Banter Blitz with Daniil Dubov 

The way his rating went from 3000 to 4500 will never escape my memories 😂 we had fun trolling him for a while

So here's a funny story (at least to me): In Greece, 11 years ago, when I was 14, I had played against a boy of the same age as me. I remember he was a cool kid and a very good player (so much so that after the match and the day after, even if he tried to be friendly with me, I was just stressed just because of the sheer differerence in power). In any case, when you're a young kid and you play at tournaments, names don't really stick with you that much till you get used to seeing someone. I never saw that kid again since he wasn't a fellow greek, therefore the chances of seeing a foreigner back then without the populartization of chess through internet was inexistent. Anyway, I never got to remember that boy's name but I've been remembering his face all this time (at least how it was at the age of 14). Fast forward to present: Someday, as I was watching agadmator's videos, my eyes started to examine a certain thumbnail. The face seemed familiar. It was particular in the sense that it sticks with you. His name didn't ring any bell nor did his ethnicity. After all, I never was an avid chess player to say that I was really keeping up with chess news, even more so since I haven't played any official matches in ages. Nonetheless, I was certain about that face. There are 3 super GM’s, I enjoy the Bantzer Blitz series a lot. 1. Magnus Carlsen for his calmness, instructive and very solid calculations. 2. Alireza Firouzja, for his crazy creative abilities and super blitz momentz, calculations at his age and his funny accent. 3. Daniil Dubov, he is a genuily very cool guy, very instructive. Sometimes takes the risky decisions and creates beautiful mates like all Russians. I feel like I’ve learned a lot from these 3 and I never miss his bantzer videos.

Daniel is so wonderful playing like this...please more of him in banter blitz or any other formats , I just love the way he describes things :)

You can tell dubov admires magnus a lot. It's honestly so cute 🤧 I wish i could see more clips of their interactions or maybe a collaboration someday
