Baofeng F22 Best Budget Walkie Talkie 

This is the only place where I can pose a question, since this model is not well represented on RU-vid, and Amazon no longer allows one to ask a question. So this is an "F22"? This designation doesn't appear on the radio, the manual or the box, but that's not a question. I got 4 in different colors. 3 work properly and one can't be used because the buttons don't do what they were designed to do. I checked the vestigial troubleshooting in the manual and there's nothing of value there. I searched the Web hoping to find out if there was a way to do a factory reset, before returning the radio. While I feel sure there is a way to do this, the only results on the Web refer to the 5R radios, and there is no way to guess what bizarro combinations of keystrokes might do a reset. Here are my symptoms. I power up. The screen reads "VOX 6 and DCS 3". Every 48 seconds the volume bars are displayed for a second, showing full volume, but pressing the up and down arrows has no effect. The weather button does work (sic). The Scan button does cycle but there are no signals near me. I assume it would work. I don't even know why I am bothering to write this, because the screens keep changing unpredictably. I'm absolutely unable to lower the volume and I cannot use the menu system since a short press does nothing and a longer press simply locks or unlocks the keys. I guess I just got a broken one, but if anyone has any insight into a way to reset this thing, please tell me. It gets worse: I bought these on Amazon, which has no mechanism for other than returning the entire order of two 2-packs, or getting a full refund. I tried to contact the seller, AUSWILL using Amazon's mandatory form. It allowed me to exlain in brief form what the issue was, but on my computers, no "SUBMIT" button was showing at the bottom of the screen. This is a common problem with idiot programmers (I'm a retired programmer) who don't provide for scrolling their page. Since I couldn't contact the seller I simply left unfair 1* product and seller reviews, in hopes of getting their attention. Yes they are cheap and I could just keep buying them, but this bad Amazon behavior should be called out. No, Baofeng will not assist if you don't buy direct.

Hey can frs work in Europe?

It doesn't seem possible to programme this radio using software such as Chirp. Is that correct? Is the only way to change the setting by updating them manual through the keypad?

Ive got F22 after having Motorola T42. What can I say.. This small Motorola is much much better! The price is just above baofeng but still chap. Mototola has smaller more compact size. More clear voice. More readible voice. In general when baofeng is starting to loose contact Motorola is still good. Comparing this to USB-C, torchlight, ctss.. ok.. nothing like this in mototola but thunking about communucation there is no doubts..
