Rarely do we ask people these questions when they come to church (Acts 19) but the very first time I attended a UPC revival tent meeting, SEVERAL PEOPLE shook my hand and with Godly LOVE asked me, "do you have the Holy Ghost" and "how were you baptized"? One young man cared enough to sit down with me in that cold tent, and explain the oneness of God and how important it was for me to be baptized in Jesus name. I rejected this at first but in January 15, 2020 I was finally baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins! To GOD be the glory of course, but I just wish I could find that man and thank him for explaining this to me, even though it took me many years later to do it, he helped lay a foundation for me. It was the APOSTOLIC WORLD CENTER in Fort Worth, Texas in a tent meeting, around 1987 or 88. Let's NEVER BE SCARED to ask people these questions please!

All glory to the Name of Jesus!! ...I was a proud and dedicated Baptist, from childhood (baptized at age 10)! Upon entering high school, I was introduced to, and became friends with, a group of 5 Pentecostal (Apostolic) fellow students. (Note: I knew NOTHING about "Apostolics", and barely anything about Pentecostals, at that time.) The mutual friend (from junior high school) who introduced us was himself Apostolic, but he and I had never really discussed religion, in the couple of years we had known each other; I just knew that his father was a "Holiness" pastor. In a matter of just a couple of months, that friend transferred to another high school; but by then, me and the others had become fast friends! ...In time, they started talking about me getting (re)baptized (in Jesus' Name), and about receiving the Holy Spirit; as they all had done! Many LIVELY (but always cordial!) debates ensued, as one can imagine; Matt. vs Acts!! Ha ha ...At some point, I was relating one of these "debates" to a good Baptist friend of mine; who was WAY more knowledgeable about Scriptures and the Bible than I was. "EVERYBODY KNOWS that the BAPTIST church was the FIRST church!!", I said to him. "No, no it WASN'T!", he responded! 😯 That really STUNNED me, and shook my world, completely!! Well, if NOT; who/what WAS the first church, then?? HOW did Christianity actually come to be??!! ... I then decided to do a "deep dive" into the subject!! Teacher Urshan talks/teaches about the "Book of Acts paradigm"! Well, it made perfect SENSE to me, that if the Church BEGAN on the Day of Pentecost, then THAT'S where my SEARCH FOR THE "TRUE CHURCH" needed to begin!! So, with a prayerful and earnest heart and mind, I began to diligently STUDY the Word! ... It took a while, but about a year later, I requested to be baptized IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST; and TWO DAYS LATER (at a prayer service, at the church where I got baptized), I was "FILLED WITH THE HOLY GHOST"; SPEAKING IN ANOTHER "TONGUE", as the SPIRIT "GAVE UTTERANCE"!! 😮...I was simply praying, on my knees, thanking God for my desire to follow Him, and for the desire to be obedient to His Word; and at one point, everytime I opened my mouth to say "Hallelujah", my tongue would pronounce completely DIFFERENT "utterances"! ...Wow, I was actually speaking "in tongues", just like it was PROMISED in Acts!! I wasn't TRYING to; I would just OPEN MY MOUTH, to praise God, and the Spirit would put OTHER "words" in my mouth!! ...What an incredible evening of CONFIRMATION and of REJOICING!! ... For the many years I have known and followed the ORIGINAL WAY and the LORD has lately shown me that the Apostle MATTHEW NEVER PENNED the words to baptise in the F.S.&HS, He would have been excommunicated on the spot. THE LORD made it known to me, just as satan changed GOD'S word in Eden, satan beguiled the church by again changing by the sneekest, snake like twisting of GOD'S WORD. here in Matthew. ANYTHING TO TAKE THE NAME ( POWER ) out of the Gospel if he could. So here you have it. The very first ANTI CHRIST, DOCTRINE IN THE VERY FIRST GOSPEL.. WHAT A LOATHSOME TRICK.. Yes, Jesus is our perfect example for Christian living. His baptism was His obedience. At His obedience, the Heaven was opened, and the Anointing was poured out, without measure. At this moment, He was led/driven by the Spirit, into the wilderness...then He began His earthly ministry... Later, after He rose from the dead... John 20:21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. 22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: 23 Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained. What Jesus says here is HUGE! Obedience is the key! Repentance and the Obedience of Baptism in Jesus Name, breaks the cycle of sin and disobedience (for us). Jesus promised His disciples that they would soon be baptized with the Holy Ghost. Which was poured out in Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost, and would be the sending/driving Force for these chosen agent/brokers/representatives of Jesus. Hallelujah!
The reason Jesus needed to be baptized was to fulfill all righteousness. The Levitical priests had to be 30 yrs old and be washed also before they could minister if I remember correctly. Jesus fulfilled the priestly requirements also

Hi Bro. Urshan, we had a discussion on one of your other videos; I hope you don't mind me saying something here as well. The Trinitarian formula in Matthew 28:19 was, if you look at the Didache, the so-called and erroneously named "teachings of the 12 apostles," which dates in its earliest forms to probably the first century (compared with our earliest copies of Matthew 28 which come after the council of Nicea), the Trinitarian baptismal formula was originally a threefold immersion. The church fathers immersed converts once in the name of the Father, then a second time in the name of the Son, then a third time in the name of the Holy Ghost. That was the original meaning and import of this formula. It was included in Matthew as a doctrinal appendage. It wasn't something Jesus ever said. Likewise, in Mark 16, anything after verse 8 is questioned as far as authenticity. The so called "longer ending" of Mark, or anything after verse 8, might not be genuine. This might be hard to accept if someone is King James only. What we know for sure is, is that Jesus told his followers to go and make disciples of all nations, and that this was to be done in his name. The name of God never changed; the name he revealed in the Old Testament is still his name. He gave birth to a Son, calling him Jesus (Hebrew "Yeshua"). Lots of people in Israel had this name, several of which are mentioned in Scripture. There is a "Jesus son of Justus" mentioned in Colossians. There were several people in the Old Testament as well who had this name, which you'll find in the King James Version as Jeshua. "Jesus" is the Greek version of the Hebrew "Jeshua." Jesus, the man, God's Son, is the only way to God. This is why we are baptized in his name. It's not because Jesus is the name of God. Even though there were many Jesus's who lived in history, we are saved through a specific Jesus; he who is God's Son. His name is significant, because it means "Jehovah is salvation," but this is a truly human name that points back to Jehovah as being salvation. The name Joshua means the same thing. We can call our children Joshua right? The name Jeshua is actually a shortened form of Joshua (Jehoshua). The name Joshua was used before the Babylonian captivity, and the name Jeshua/Jesus was used afterward. It is a specific Jesus, he who is God's Son, whom God highly exalted, and gave to him the name which is above every name (which means an authority above all others), hence Jesus is "Lord," but the one who gave this to him, namely God, is excepted of course (see 1 Corinthians 15:27). So it is extremely important to be baptized in Jesus' name. The reason being, we are saved through Jesus' sacrifice. We are commanded to do all in Jesus' name, and to come to the Father through him. This is the reason.

Question: i have a man who listens to Gino Jennings (who i believe to be generally pretty solid but...) who teaches jesus name isnt enough, that it must be exactly "as the word says" "lord jesus" or "jesus christ", not realizing lord is descriptive of Jesus and not his name, the same with Christ. What is a simple refutation/response to this?
Matthew 28 19 was change by the Roman Catholic Church in second century original it was written go ye and teach all nations baptizing them in my NAME. The phrases in my NAME is found through out the 4 gospels the phrase of present bible Matthew is not found yet tradition has deceived the world

I only baptize in Jesus name. Period. But, that being said, how can you say as a person that is baptized in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues, that if they did not get baptized in Jesus name, you are saying they are going to hell? I know many people that have not been baptized correctly that love Jesus with all of their heart and are full of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of tongues and so Jesus would send someone to hell, someone who has his spirit on the inside, they would perish because they did not understand baptism?
My thought would be, if they love Jesus that much, why wouldn't they want to be baptized in his name ? Why wouldn't they want to do it correctly as in the Bible ? Jesus will be the judge of all things, but why take the chance ?
@@apostolicengineer8251 Because many times like the church I was brought up in, the revelation wasn't there. Many churches like the one I was in, taught both ways of baptism was acceptable. If you are new in the Lord, you don't know. And many times it's not that anyone ignores it, but there's a lot of bible to read and most churches sadly don't stress the book of Acts. I came out of a world with drugs and things like that, had never read the bible. Was baptized in the titles, received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Then I'm told by awesome and well meaning Apostolics, you are not saved because you were not baptized correctly. That is error. One cannot have the Spirit of Christ on the inside and not be saved. It's almost as if Jesus is portrayed as a spiritual NFL official, you get to heaven, you have His Spirit but He throws a flag and says, sorry, you didn't get baptized correctly, I have to condemn you to an eternity in hell. Look at my Grandpa and Grandma. Holiness people. Church of God. Very simple, barely educated, not a good reading level. My Grandma once went down to be prayed for by Oral Roberts. When she saw his diamond ring she went back to her seat. She had standards. Uncut hair, filled with the Spirit, but neither of them understood that much about baptism. So in your line of thinking, these two wonderful Christians are burning in hell right now. Just doesn't add up in scripture
@@apostolicengineer8251 I’m actually a former UPC preacher and I haven’t kept up with things in a long time. I did not know that Kenneth Haney had passed away several years ago. What an incredibly powerful preacher he was. I could listen to that guy preach all day! Also Royce Elms. I can honestly say I’ve never heard anyone like Royce in my entire life. I would give anything if I could get my hands on some of his sermons, but there seems to be nothing out there.
I love the doctrine of the oneness and Jesus name water baptism but I stop at playing God and determining someone’s salvation saved not saved some people don’t get the truth at their church and they go by Matt 28:19 that’s all they know and unfortunately they don’t study the word is someone going to hell for using the titles instead of the name ? I wish everyone would get the revelation of Jesus name 1 God hallelujah amen 🙏 I have a lot of trinity friends great people speaks in tongues prays and worships just like us without the truth. I will never compromise on baptism and 1 God and tongues as evidence of receiving the Holy Ghost. I hate though the oneness people are called a cult and send everybody else to hell
Reasons why UPC Oneness is accused of being cultish/or a cultish attitude is::: the shunning towards wayward members/the legalism of clothes so called holiness standards( True a Christian should practice a form of modesty) might as well dress Amish and drive a buggy to not appear worldly...And also the lack of The direct worship and praise for The Almighty Creator Father GOD ...Reason Yeshua came to show us The Father/They are One /The Only Reason Why we can approach (Court Of Heaven)The Throne Of Grace And Mercy Of Abba Father Because Of our Mediator Intercessor Redeemer HighPriest Yeshua Hamashiach due to Holy Ghost Guidance And Boldness...From a Former UPCI member /Whom The Son sets Free is Free In deed ❤Just dialoguing/BTW: I do love UPC Altar call methods/very liberating spiritually ❤

Baptism in Jesus's name only did not give the gift of the Holy Ghost to the Samaritans Acts 8 :14-18 This happened when Peter and John lay their hands on them. Similarly the Ephesians did not receive the Holy Ghost when they were re-baptised in the name of Jesus. Acts 19 :1-7 This happened when Paul lay his hands on them. Whether baptism following Jesus's last command to the apostles which clearly tells them to baptise in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost does we do not know but many are baptised this way.
@@wjdyr6261 L am not sure. Revelation reminds us not to add or take away from the scriptures. Truncating Jesus command is taking away from the scriptures. I decided to be baptised in both ways.

@@wjdyr6261 Peter was speaking to the Jews who had just crucified Jesus and would already have been baptised for remission of sins by John the Baptist. We are gentiles. Were Jesus's words wrong. Scripture tell us if you do not hear about the Holy Ghost then you will not receive it. Jesus's words ensure that we do.

Biblos network, Jn 3: 5 doesn't say the water is baptism, DOES IT, so why do you cults say it does? The only Biblical instruction that we have for water baptism, is Matt 28: 19, and that's the only way that the Apostles and disciples would have baptized people. Peter was there when Jesus told them, so why would he disobey Jesus and baptise people in the name of Jesus only? He wouldn't, and he didn't. The Biblical Greek doesn't say they baptized in the name of Jesus. Two of the scriptures say Baptized INTO Jesus. See Rom 6: 3. One scripture says WITH THE AUTHORITY of Jesus. Another scripture says UNTO the Authority of Jesus. What Authority? Matt 28: 18--19. So because you were baptized in Jesus' name, you aren't baptized. The Bible says because you don't believe the Father AND the Son, you are an unsaved antichrist. Oneness people are unsaved to, and that's a Biblical fact. Also, you don't find ONE scripture that says Jesus is the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost. You unsaved people make things up, things that oppose the Bible. You are inspired by the devil.
