I find Obama's knowledge of US and world affairs, the economy, environmental issues, etc. very impressive. He strikes me as a very intelligent yet modest man who is always willing to learn new things. He sounds very diplomatic and has a calm head on his shoulders. I think Obama deserves the chance to be president.
I definitely agree with you. A lot of people are talking about the fact that he has no experience, but he has laid out a clear plan of what he is going to do as president. He has wonderful ideas of how to move this country foward, and I think after watching the debate last night, Obama showed that he has the ability to connect to those in both parties, when he had said several times that McCain was right on certain ideas. To me, McCain was stubborn and felt that his ideas were better than Obamas
its difficult not be impressed by Obama - have you ever seen such a senior politician so comfortable in so many different scenarios ? Well done USA for looking beyond trivial issues and allowing this guy to steer the ship.
He's so sure with the questions being asked and gives truthful responses, acknowledges the mistakes of the past and knows what the country needs to do. I dread to think what Sarah Palin would be saying in this interview...
What a man. A man who changed the world - a man who you can only respect. There have been many in he's place, but he's the best ever. This guy is so awesome. Simply, a man who will go down in history as a legend.. Yeah, and that black dude is fine too.
This man is special, He's the one! I never stopped believing in America. This is an amazing country and we are rising to the occasion. The future of this country is very bright and president Obama is part of that bright future. I love the questions Dave asked. I can tell Dave is not a big fan of his but I am.
......yo kemron, definitely stevie wonder....think it's"keep on believin'". thats the way the Late Nite folks roll on this show. the song's Paul plays on guest intros are somehow connected to the guest or guest situations...someone should do a book.
This man will make a very good President. I agree with his policy on the war. I wonder how long it will take him to get our people out of there after he is inaugurated in January?!
I'm from Russia and what I can say for sure, that all the people of our country like Mr. Obama. I think he'll do everything what he has said during the campaign. He just can't do everything in a year, time is necessary. And we couldn't say the same about Bush with his PRO and so on.
I am so glad that there are people in this country who want to support and elect the person who will make the smartest decisions for our country. To me, there is no other choice but Barack Obama. McCain can talk about his experience all he wants to, but ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS! Just because John McCain has been in the Senate for 26 years and has shown bi-partisanship, doesn't mean that he has been in support of laws and bills that will help this country.
the more i hear Obama speak, the more i realize how proud i would be to have him represent the country. my how intelligent, logical, and non-demeaning he is! it's rather sad that some of these comments just lower themselves to name-calling and irate rantings. i suppose when you have no real substance to what you are talking about, that's what your response must be. i pray that this country will be blessed with obama and we can move forward to love and tolerance and away from fear and hatred.
I'm Irish and I love obama, but I'm not mad on the "last best hope on earth" comment but fully agree that ist disappointment rather then hatred due to the high expections comment. So glad he won.
(cont...) and the early expansion of the universe. It's such a difficult thing for the human mind to visualise and brings about some interesting questions e.g. when everything currently in the universe was all in one place (a singularity) what was outside it? what came before it? why is there something rather than nothing? Its the very strangeness of the universe that makes life interesting for me (along with the usual human stuff like friends, computers and wine.)
can't help but really 'listen' to President Obama... charming but coherrant and an honest strategist....politics ~diplomacy ~foreign policy shall be interesting....ppl can speculate but unlike earlier candidates there is more suspense & expectations too! all the best President OBAMA!
Gotta love Letterman.. "That is a good 'suit'... I would vote for that 'suit'" You can tell he wants to endorse Obama, but the network wouldn't like that.
I've read Audacity Of Hope and Life In The Woods and Walden and Civil Disobedience, all great enlightening reads. The Old Testament is also a very interesting fairy tale to read but the New Testament is something too surreal and unbelievable. If you would spend some time, as a thinking open minded individual, listening to Bob Dylan's music, specially his early work and after his conversion, than you will find enlightenment there too. The man is utterly brilliant.
As a canadian with friends fighting in afghanistan and following american politics very closely ; I honestly think that the american redeployment in afghanistan will be concentrated on the pakistanese border. However, it is a much smaller area to control and defend than the whole of iraq, so it would make sense that you need less troops there than the couple hundreds of thousands serving in Iraq. Plus, a stronger international force is already supporting american troops.
@binznakama Definitely, and I think that's what a lot of people right now just don't realize. They're seeing his positions and stances and actions as extreme at the moment, but in the long haul, it'll all work out, but it'll just take time...........and we all know how Americans are with patience, true?
I like it when the president has a fun loving personality. Obama has it. Bush had it to. I may not like these guys as politicians, but they sure would be fun as hell to hang out with them.
There is a difference between extremely unlikely and impossible. However unlikely we estimate that life may be, we know that it arose on at least one planet. You mention one man's estimate, yet our knowledge of abiogenesis is increasing all the time. The building blocks of life are very common in the universe. I think it much more unlikely that there is a being that simultaneously has control of every molecule in the universe, yet remains hidden from any scientific test.
