Barack Obama (after Biden dropped out and endorsed Harris): “We will be navigating uncharted waters in the days ahead. But I have extraordinary confidence that the leaders of our party will be able to create a process from which an outstanding nominee emerges”. Barack Obama 5 days later: “I endorse Kamala Harris”.

Yeah, he seems to have wanted somebody else. Although to be fair so did a lot of people before Biden actually dropped out, fearing that Harris wouldn't be popular enough, but then it turned out she was pretty popular anyway so a lot of people changed their minds about her pretty quickly

@@cheydinal5401No!! Biden was his Vice President, Biden is his friend. Don’t you think it would have been heartbreaking if Obama had endorsed Harris immediately? Obama knew how difficult it was for Joe Biden to step down and I think he was just giving Biden the respect.

@mormonobserver completely different scenario with Gerald Ford. Ford became President when Nixon resigned, as specified in the 25th amendment to the Constitution.
