I'm surprised nobody's mentioning that Obama's hand movements weren't just to illustrate the question of size, but also a lampoon of the hand motions Trump makes constantly when he's making a speech. A joke of multiple levels, that apparently according to his speechwriters he insisted be left in not telling them about his idea for a visual component (one of the writers was interviewed on The Bulwark). Bravo, President Obama, bravo. 👏
Lil Jon did 25 episodes of "The Apprentice" with Trump. (He was on two different seasons and finished in the top 5 both times.) A few years ago, Trump claimed he didn't know who Lil Jon was. I bet he remembers him now. 🤣
Trump's brain is very limited in functionality. He only remembers people who are currently doing things he cares about. And he is only capable of two emotions, love and hate. If he doesn't love you, he must hate you.
Obama is an excellent orator. One of the best. So, when he says he doesn’t want to follow Michelle’s speech, THAT is the epitome of a respectful husband and partner. Much love to both. ❤️💙❤️
How I miss listening to Barack and Michelle Obama speaking! Clear, thoughtful, with just the right amount of snark. Loved when he said, "Don't boo; vote!"
@@MargaretBuzas And we all remember the correct response. VOTE! I learned some things I'll never forget , that continue to serve me from the Obama's. I'm a fan of Presidents booklists. Books they read and the people they studied while in school that they catalogue in their autobiographies. Amazing
Nah, I think it is the new format of rotating host. They feel much more cohesive, like a team of comedian giving their best for us, ala monty python. Its refreshing, they should keep it up instead of a regular host. Less pressure for one and let everyone shine.
12:34 - comparing Mr. Trumps assassinatio n attempt to Mr. Obama's joke about crowd size being a lethal attack; that attack did k ill someone and you just made a joke about it and on Jan 6 ashl i babbi t was also gunne d down and people made fun of her. Their is a reason the DNC needs ID to get in and a 12 foot fence...around the entire event. They think some wacko will do the same to them.
As an Illinoisan, I was deeply hurt by Desi Lydic's comments about our imprisoned governors and serial killer John Wayne Gacy. She COMPLETELY ignored the fact that we are also the home of one of the country's first serial killers, H.H. Holmes! The utter disrespect!
No - I voted for President Obama and have great respect for what this couple did for our nation, but his speech at the convention channeled a lot of Tim Walz content. He didn't talk like that when he was stumping the first time. And I don't say that for racial reasons, etc. but Tim Walz just lays it out and he and the Vice President are the power couple - talking plainly - actually planning on making things happen this upcoming 4 years vs. in the past. Until Tim Walz was added, ALL of the Democratic party was hovering quietly in the background. I'm glad they are stepping up now, but let's give credit where credit is due.
@@verbalkint5781 Your name must be verbal, cuz u love to talk. Well written and unnecessary. President Obama is an EXCELLENT orator who rocks EVERY speech! Tim Walz is also and EXCELLENT speaker... & all the powerful Dems were hovering in the background, cuz they had to gauge the temperature. It's called a campaign and it requires actually STRATEGY.
All our neighbors have to come to New Mexico to get reproductive freedom. Fun fact New Mexico has no limitations for abortion. People that need late pregnancy abortions come here to get help. Also parental consent is not necessary if you can consent you can get an abortion in NM
One-old Chump* 🤣 in 2016, it was '"P***y-grabbin ' Chump"😁 Ronny Chieng is right. It's so easy with him. I was so hoping Biden was going to fake stumble over his name again and use Chump, when he called him Donald Dump in the one speech.
Obama:" Here is a 78-year-old billionaire who has not stopped whining about his problems since he rode down his golden escalator nine years ago. There's the childish nicknames, the crazy conspiracy theories, this weird obsession with crowd sizes." The crowd knew exactly what Obama meant about size. I love it.
the way he brought his hands together and then he looked down at them. Every time Trump utters "Barrack HUSSEIN Obama" as a dig, everyone will be envisioning Obama with his hand close together...looking down at them...."SHOW ME YOUR GIRTH CERTIFICATE!!"
I would be priceless to see Trump address the girther movement, but I don't think he could handle himself very well - I mean, small objects are really hard to handle.
Only thing about Obama is he would always sound like he was campaigning n didn’t do much but talk a great game ???? I wish he got his agenda across he is a smart cool man the opposite of Biff the human wrecking ball
Girth certificate was great, but “the wall’s not the only thing he can’t get up” felt like a better second than micro aggression since it hits on policy, too 😛
Trump cries when the tables are turned, when he is NOT the only one who can hurl insults..the distinction is the Dems use truth, not lies, to spark humor.
They use lies to tell you that your candidate is fine, healthy, and mentally acute. You saw their lies at the debate, when Joe just had no go. You heard their lies after that it was just a bad night. That he’s fine, he’s still great and everyone stood behind him. You saw the split, the lower Dems voiced concern and the top Dems voiced support (in public, lies). You saw the top Dems lies again come in when they forced him out, and TOLD YOU who your candidate is; The one that polled in the low thirties among Dems until you were instructed otherwise. The entire time the MSM echoed their lines (lies) for them. Here you are, wiping more blue goo from your chin. As an independent, I really have lost all respect for Dems. I’ve voted for them in the past for certain roles, but I can’t see it happening again anytime soon, completely pathetic.
Classic bully boy. Talks tough with his muscle around him, shrinks into the weak, pathetic creature he is, when confronted. Dont even have to hurl insults at him, just the plain truth is devastating to his fragile ego.
@@CortexNewsService - I've heard conservatives try to be funny. It typically fails pretty hard. Grievance, misogyny, sexism, and victimhood tend to fall pretty flat. Occasionally they can land a zinger.
I loved Doug's speech! I don't think I've ever heard a politician's spouse who was that in love with them. I think it's great to embrace and speak openly about their healthy, happy blended family.
Man as a DoD contractor I miss having that man as the front man and defacto boss. US people may not understand the significance but if you have family in fashion and textiles, and have to interact with those in the high fashion world, what the Obamas brought to the table was a a style and fashion sense that allowed us to just give France and Italy the ole side eye of "you can lie to your friends but you ain't lying to us," and they would slink away in shame. When trump came into office, I understood the change and decided to live out my days as now a subterranean mole person. I work, I eat, I burrow, zero interaction means zero embarrassment, such is simple life of mole person.
@@Jakob_DK I think Cassetteboy (or someone like him) made a compilation of Trump speech clips including one where he overlaid footage of an accordion and associated out-of-tune music. 😬
The Obamas are impossible to "beat" when it comes to speech making. Black job and crowd size were just the icing on the cake to amazing speeches. Doug was charming and I love how much he loves his wife. Schumer, eh? Jordan and Ronnie are as always fantastic.
What's incredible to me is the crowd was so loud it drowned out a microphoned yelling 'Lil John...this is the most electrifying and much needed energy into politics. Thank you Joe for paving the way and what a chess play to save that for the last lap when the attention is the most intense. Brilliant.
Honest they should just keep this rotation going. Gives all the senior crew to show their hosting skills while also doing the correspondent skills. Killing it on both fronts they are.
I agree. I think Kosta, Lydic and Klepper are just great hosts. I think TDS could just straight up mix it up even if Jon Jon leaves to go back to saving animals on his farm after the election. This whole Tag Team at TDS is just killing it night after night.
I totally agree! Keep rotating top level comedians as hosts. That keeps things interesting and gives the stars some breathing room between performances. Considering these late night comedy shows are a highly creditable source of news commentary, I feel it's better to hear multiple viewpoints from the anchor desk.
Lmbo sorry , but we are deporting him after he loses 😅 So you'll put up a border fence or block the runways at your airport 🛫 . Haha 😄 Pootin isn't going to take him . Poor t , will see his best friend pootin never really love him .❤
It's not just the insult Obama made. It's how masterfully he did it. When he looks down at his hands like he didnt realize what he's doing. Just perfection.
Yesterday KAMALA said, "the high food prices are the result of price gouging by the big grocery stores." 💙. Today WALMART announced it is lowering prices on 7000 items including groceries !!
@@theworldsonheroin gas prices always go low around the general election so that candidates from neither side would use it to win support. After the election, they will start gouging again to recoup all the losses...I mean make up for the lower profits

Mine did maybe because I am in Georgia had the nerve to say our VP put felons on the streets like the republicans party didn’t put their felon on the streets. To funny vote 💙
That actually worries me. I’m in the mindset of always knowing where and what your enemies are doing or saying. I don’t want to go digging for it because I don’t want my home page riddled with it. But a few automated recommendations here and there wouldn’t hurt.
This guy sat through tRump rallies trying to make sense of it. Pointing out the obvious. I love Jordan Klepper! I am so glad to see him hosting the Daily show! ☺️💙💙💙🌊🌊🌊
I’ve been watching the DNCs since 2008 which I was eligible to vote for my first presidential election that year. Never have I been this moved and exited (except when Hilary casted her vote for Obama which I legit balled my eyes out). This is the greatest DNC I’ve ever watched and I hope they stick to this format. It was quite literally a concert and had that entire stadium lit!
Yes, we did. You are a great guy & u did what you were supposed to do, introduce her as a caring loving woman with COJONES. Not fair to compare u with Michelle, she has gotten better with the years & the continued disrespect from the Republicans. For me, though, the best part was when Michelle introduced Barack as the "love of my life".
It’s easy to understand. The state of our country, political polarization, and hate, their words show hope at a time when it seems low. It’s time to bring Americans together again. I do believe Harris shares their message.
I cried, laughed, danced, and felt hope, throughout the past few days. But man, Michelle Obama has changed my perspective as an American. That was truly the best speech I’ve ever personally seen. I don’t know much about Barack or Michelle Obama, because I was in middle school when they were in office… but both of their speeches were amazing 🩵 💛
Broke my heart to hear the Obamas speak. To hear great political oration again, the beautiful language, the emotional delivery, the intelligence behind it all...brought to mind an old literary quote: "The past is a different country: they do things differently there." Thanks, Obamas, for the reminder that we once were great.
I was thinking the same thing. I feel inspired, hopeful and pride after hearing the Obamas give a speech. I feel nauseated, disgusted, and frustrated after hearing Trump talk. I felt ashamed to be an American while he was President. The thought of possibly being stuck with Trump as President again truly gives me anxiety. I don't want to go back to that.
Hey, let's not diss what Biden has accomplished. He had to come in during the heart of the pandemic, and steer us through. We have barely begun to reap the benefits of the infrastructure bill. My 401K has more than regained what it lost during the final year of Drumpf. And, he had to regain the trust and respect of our foreign allies.
@@MarcDionne-d2x - Oh, absolutely! Biden pulled us out of the morass that Trump left us in, and I would have been happy with 4 more years, except that whether or not he still maintained the strength and capacity to carry on for another four years, he could no longer project that image to voters, and that alone would likely have given Trump the election. Joe Biden served his (and our) country well for an entire lifetime, and I believe he can claim his term as President of the United States as the crowning jewel of a life of service. THANK YOU, JOE!
@@MarcDionne-d2x - I think I replied to you elsewhere on this same issue (or else my comment went astray and is floating aimlessly somewhere in cyberspace) but I'll say it again - I in no way dissed or intended to diss Joe Biden (didn't even mention him!) and I am 💯with you on your comment. Like Obama, Biden walked into a mess created by a prior administration, and like Obama (with Joe as his VP), Biden hit the ground running and took care of business. Trump's mad because it's looking more and more like he's not going to be able to roll in and claim credit for yet another economy brought back from the brink of a republican administration. THANK YOU, JOE! 😘
I got to attend tonight's taping and had a blast! Great episode of the Daily Show and shout out to Jordan's parents for continuing to be so supportive to Jordan!
Much props to DJ Cassidy! I've never watched a political convention, and I had it playing in the background while cleaning. Let's just say I didn't finish 😂 This was very well produced! It was very well produced, the music hooked me but the speeches kept me hanging on every word. Excited to cast my vote this November 🎉
Desi delivers. Goodness gracious me, her delivery is 100%. Still laughing. And Klepper as host is rock solid. And Ronny? He is a class of his own. You never really know what he'll say, but you know it will be funny. All the best to everyone in TDS, writers, other staff and support making it possible for those in front to shine. Thank you!
It sure doesn’t! I was captivated for the entire speech. I love learning about their journey in finding each other, their blended lives, her love for their kids and family.
Jordan Klepper is one of the best journalist and comedians on the planet. Brilliant work from the team of writers and delivery in prose satire. Well done 👏🏾
I was in the audience and can confirm he got SO much love. The producers didn't really have to do much coaxing to get people enthusiastic. We also had extra time so he was taking questions from the audience which was really fun. His family was also in attendance which we learned during the pre-show comic warmup which was fun. :-) They were seated in the nose bleeds and it was so pure.
😂😂😂 All of my favorite late night shows have just been GLOVES OFF all week, along with such key powerful players at the DNC. I haven't laughed so hard at these shows in so long. This is gold!
On the Obama burn: “That’s the second time the Secret Service has failed to protect Trump from a lethal attack.” Glad I wasn’t drinking my coffee when I heard that line! 😂🤣
