Lol hi Corine! Just bringing a little of home to all my people abroad who cant make it home for what ever reason. Thank you for the complement, I"m just having fun making this stuff. Thanks for your support
Sorry to be so offtopic but does someone know of a tool to get back into an instagram account..? I stupidly forgot my password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me!
@Gael Angelo Thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm trying it out atm. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Hi Dorian, just remember there are called Lead Pipes, so there're very hard. If you want a softer bread that taste just about the same, you can check out my coconut sweet bread and give that one a try first. Happy baking
Good morning Joyce! My grandmother was a very good cook and baker, around the holidays she bake for her neighbors as well as herself. My sister and myself, had no choice but to assists. That though me a lot, and practice helped me learned to measure out the ingredients.
You make everything so simple, I saw your videos for the first time yesterday and I am going to make sure I watch all of them. Thanks very much you're doing an awesome job. Barbados in the house.
Been making these for the past 3 weeks and I love them! Wonderful recipe! My daughter's father who is Jamaican, tried the one I made for him and he LOVES them too! Thank you for sharing your recipe, Tinaraine! 😊
Thank you Jen, it is just as easy as it looks, no more buying them from the store, you can make as many as you like, freeze some and always have them available for when you are in the mood.
O goodness thank you for this recipe,my cousin told me about led pipe but I have never eaten them or even see them,I left Barbados a long time ago and I never know about led pipe, you are amazing,l am going to try your recipe
I never had them but my brother used to rave about a roadside bakery ( i suspect) called Gwen Workman ( could be misspelled ) and her lead pipes. I will forward the recipe to him in Denmark he will be delighted.
Hi Clem, Lead pipes was a favorite for a lot of people. There are hard when bitten into but so good with your coffee or tea. Your brother should be happy with these ones.
Hi Lex, there were and still are! There are hard to chew but made right there're delicious with a good cup of coffee. I may have to make some more lol. Thanks for watching.
I made your led-pipes today there came out on point..your recipes are so easy to follow..I always bring back when I go home now I dont have to..keep up the good work..I just had one with a cup of T 🙏🙏
You are legit my FAVOURITE "BAJAN YANKEE," Tinaraine! I love watching you do your videos; you remind me so much of Marion Hart: the only other person that always looks so naturally skilled, - nuh "flim-flam," that if you were to tell me to "put Salt in sugar cakes," I would just ask: "how much salt?" Keep making Barbados proud, chick! I've just discovered you recently, but I'm telling everyone - here and Bajan friends overseas, to try an' watch your channel...aaaand give you those (well-deserved!) and all-important "LIKE$!"
Awwwww!!! Thank you so much Deejay! I appreciate you for your kind words and for letting others know about the channel. I will be starting vacation this week so stayed tuned and have your bell turned on for more updated videos. Thank you for watching.
Got your name etc from my work mate.. made one of your drinks fir her so now l am watching you.. love the fact you aint got mo American accent. Bajan to de bone
Hi Maxine I'm a Bajan through and through, I held onto that accent for dear life lol. I say thank you to your work mate who turn you onto this channel yeahhhh. Thank you for being here and giving some of the recipes a try.
When you get through with all this cooking I will have to go on a duet. You are really taking me back to childhood. Wishing you much success. Faithful subscriber.
Thank you Charmaine! You and me both girl, I wanted to share this video with people who live outside of Barbados and don't have easy access to the real authentic bajan foods. Thank you for being a faithful subscriber I appreciate you.
Thank you so much and a happy New year to you and your family as well! I am happy to hear your coconut bread and pone came out awesome. Hearing stories like yours make, making my videos worth every second. Be bless
These were a favorite after school but I have never seen anyone making them, I would go to the shop outside my school and wait if I had too then walk to the bus stand because I missed my school bus.
Hi Sonia you are a girl who love your lead pipes! well you don't have to miss the bus anymore, you see how easy there are to put together. You never saw anyone making them because I think it was and still is a hush hush thing there, don't understand why but now it's out there for anyone to make at their own leisure.
Thank you for this video! I made them yesterday and they were great. Hard outside and soft inside but I did some again today and they were rock hard lol! I need to figure out what I did wrong today.
O my goodness! Sorry to hear the other batch did not come out as well !You’re going to have to keep tract by writing everything you use down. Glad you were able to give them a try
Omg Tina, lol, you are too much; that's right, have to have good teeth. I dare not show this video to my older brother; the guy loves anything that is made with flour; he lives in England, the last time my dad visited Barbados he stocked up with sweet bread, led pipes, current slices, turnovers, you name it. I almost fell over when he told me that. Looking good my dear, I have never attempted to make them but trust me if and when I decided to make them he will be here in New York, lol. Xoxo
Paulette thank you, I also love a lot of bread that's one of my downfalls, but I had to share this recipe, the thing about making all this food is someone has to eat it but I was able to freeze a lot of it. Hope you had a good July 4th. be bless.
hi tina how are you . I want to know if u can remember the ola people use to make coconut pone it was flour and coconut butter and u had to beat it , I don't know if u know about that if u do can u make it , let me know keep lovely ,
Hi Jennifer, Sorry I don't remember coconut pone, only cassava and corn pone. I have videos up on those two. I will ask around and if anyone is familiar with coconut pone I'll get he recipe and make it for you. Thanks for watching and be bless.
When you see that finger wag, then you know what your eating is good. That's what we bajans do, love me some lead pipes and your recipes in general . Keep up the marvelous work.
Thank you, hope you can really come to visit me here in Holland. I made the rock cakes they were so good, but my kids didn’t like them, they were born here and the only bajan food they like is macaroni pie.
Lol that's my youngest daughter, I've tried to get her to eat some of my bajan foods but she don't like to eat it, even coconut water she would not drink can you believe that. I however took her to Barbados last year and to my surprise she ate cou cou that a family friend made, she has been asking me to make it ever since, go figure. My husband and I have been talking about doing more traveling, we're waiting for this corona virus to get under control and then we will definitely visit you.
Good morning Euel, Yes you can, when I make a recipe it’s just to give an idea of how it’s done, I want everyone’s to take out and add in all their favorite spices. Thank you for watching let me know how yours come out. Happy Sunday
I promised to stop by after you told me about your channel on Facebook October 31st. Great recipe but I am not a fan of lead pipes-even though I have my own strong teeth to bite into apples freely.
Welcome aboard! Hazel I am so glad you were able to stop by after our stew food conversation lol. Those lead pipes were really good but you do need strong teeth to eat them,. Thank you very much for stopping by. Please don't forget to subscribe.
