I love that woman! I saw Barbara Harris perform many times and she'll be performing again in my area this July 4th. I can't wait! I met her a few times too; she's such a doll, beautiful inside and out! I love the part of this song when she dances, she's a true entertainer and this is such a heartfelt song. ❤
Barbara can sing this till she’s 100, and it will always “BE JUST AS WONDERFUL.” The voice is pure gold, and gold just DOESN’T AGE, it’s permanent. I will always look for the latest performance at it will be just as new as it was fresh out of Motown. Because the voice is Barbara’s ❤️.
What a truly wonderful singer you are Barbara and your singers. Thank you for the joy you bring and please keep singing, the world need your dynastism and beauty.
The "Minuet in G" (major) on which the music for the song is based is not from the teaching book JS put together for Anna Magdalena Bach. It was actually written by Christian Petzold.
But give American songwriters Sandy Linzer and Denny Randell all the credit in taking a simple melody from Bach (who took it from C. Petzold) and adding lovely lyrics and a fantastic orchestration (especially the intro). These American songwriters continued the baroque tradition with this pop music song.
