I never tire of listening to Barbra Streisand sing or speak. She is so intelligent, and well spoken. Never boring, always interesting, always brilliant.
I always feel bad for the 'star' who has to sit thru so many of these promotional interviews. How do they come up with something different to say with each interviewer? Sometimes they don't. That's when a good interviewer is essential. Thanks for posting this sort of 'behind the scenes' piece, showing how it's done.
I love her explanation of how she can have chemistry with real men, which I think means sensitive yet manly, and how that informed her about Nick Nolte. Her deeper dive into the characters was wonderful. Nick was amazing. HIs voice is so delightful in the violin scene. It was that beautiful sarcastic / mocking voice that was needed for the scene. Then when he get mad, he has that growl, and that is just the cherry on top of everything. Barbara has good instincts.
I'm glad someone else noticed that at the beginning Barbara asks her so do you have a TV show and when the interview begins Bobby has to kiss Barbara's ass
I grew up watching Bobbie and always liked her. On the other hand Barbra Streisand is insufferable. Truly. Yes, she can sing. But she's not a great director like she wants us to believe and certainly not as intelligent as she always pretends to be.
She doesn't "pretend" to be intelligent. She is!..that's why you don't like her...but you're there to comment a simple interwiew..of someone you don't like.
She is not a great director, but she is a good one. Just like many, many other directors, whose films we watch. She is a great singer, a very good actress, producer etc. Your comment is not as smart and insightful as you think it is.
She did not listen to the question. The question is does real chemistry always work on screen? Does what you feel translate? Streisand`s weird comment about liking `real men`..Geez! Let`s not go there. Nick Nolte is not my idea of a real man. I said this to his wife`s mother in law not knowing her daughter was his partner. Furthermore it is alleged that to get the part Nolte was asked by Streisand to lose x number of pounds. So how sexy is a guy you feel you have to make over?
What an inane comment. She listens more than anyone I’ve ever heard interviewed. You did not listen to the question. Bobby stated that Barbra & Nick had an extraordinary chemistry and then asked “did you feel real certain about casting Nick Nolte??” She literally thought about her answer before saying anything… it’s almost as if you were watching a different interview.
@@moviebuff5230Wrong! Not only that but she has a notorious reputation for presumption and `not listening`. Egomaniac proportions! More chutzpah than all of us Jews put together.
@@moviebuff5230 How so? I know her. She was on the board of The Women`s Film Educational Project. I had breakfast with her once. That said, I do not need an excuse to enter into diallogue on RU-vid. Shame on you for bullying or trying to.
I’m sure you mean “ignorant” and “embarrassing.” Not that it matters, but the film was lauded by most critics and movie associations, not necessarily fans of Streisand.
Heath--why do you take time in your life to bother to listen and troll someone you don't like-------just fuck off and let her fans enjoy her interviews--Thank you
