Love you Barbara. You are funny, kind, compassionate, hard worker, bold and fearless and passing your legacy in journalism to women. You break all the barriers between men and women in the work place in journalism. You are my icon. May the Lord watch over you and blessings you with your soft spoken tone of voice. RIP❤❤❤
The thing I thought of in the last few days, was Barbara lived to work that was obvious. But it’s a shame she really didn’t get to enjoy her retirement. I hope she finally gets the biggest interview possible, asking God what kind of tree he is, and perhaps a tear will be shed.
Whoopi, you would do well to listen and watch Barbara Walters. She was the real deal. Humble, strong, sophisticated and approachable. Please shed your block on your shoulder.
Barber...you were such a mentor to me growing up as a young girl, l loved hearing you present the various news reports. I will miss you and may the stars of the universe surround you with love.
What has happened to this show since she left is a shame. She always interviewed people and there never any hateful comments. She would be sick over what this show has become!! RIP Barb!!
I absolutely love you Barbara many blessings to you hope you always rest and beautiful things you will be missed I really idolized you may you rest in peace I wish I could have met you
Was she ever with her daughter? In her autobiography, she writes about having the nanny put her preschool child in front of the television to watch her in China. She was an amazing, trailblazing journalist, but she sacrificed her own family in the process.
Barbar came from a notable Dad. Lou Walters ( believe wS her Dad's name) owned the infamous New York, Manhattan Latin Quarter Night Club located atop the
I watch this and I am mortified because if she interviewed people today like she did then she would not be accepted. And yes, norms have changed but as a woman in the industry she asked questions to women she would never have asked of men. and she did what she did to be accepted and to get ahead at any cost. she was successful because she conformed. and while I understand that it was groundbreaking for her and her success I will never understand why people raise her up as as role model. I don’t believe she would appreciate being asked about her sexual preference or her breasts and the many other inappropriate questions she asked over the years.

Well, I agree on various disputable Hollywood optics in general, but in this case, the broad was 84 when se announced her retirement, keeping it up for an additional year after that.. Fair enough that isn't it???
She was a bigoted, judgemental sanctimonious wannabee. I recall watching her interview Dolly Parton and asking her indelicate and personal questions which Dolly brushed off with dignity and aplomb. Likewise she asked George Burns questions about why he dates young women, which is pretty obvious, but he too was too composed to bite back, responding with gentle humour.
