Mundus Magnus map is perfect for this. As you said, the Kirsi map is too big for too few number of factions. Perfect for Imperium Surrectum, but way too sparse for Barbarian Empires. Mundus Magnus is much more appropriate for this number of factions. I might have to play this mod soon. Got a bit burned out on Imperium Surrectum due to the sheer size and scale of it, so a smaller one will be a nice breath of fresh air. Also wow, those Armenian units look fantastic for vanilla-style units.
To be fair I think it is bad even for Imperium Surrectum. It gets to a point where it is more of a chore than actually fun. It is way too bloated, turns take way too long and you spend way too much time just conquering a bunch of rebel cities without much else going on.
This is one of the best mods of the history...i cannot stop playing it since days...i'll hope they finiished the india region and its gonna be an absolute joy
@@GudeaTW i cant agree more! But i can say that i fought with parthia and the rebels are quite well done already, they only need to put the mauryan faction there...
The one thing i dislike about this map is that it's too big not to script nerfs to some of the factions. Without a scripted civil war the Seleucids dominate every single AI match, Parthians die of debt, and Carthage does nothing.
Think i have played this mod before, it was pretty good. Hope they can get unit cards for everything, kinda off-putting to see half or more of an army be Roman peasants on the unit cards leaving you to guess what the unit is if you aren't familiar with it. Only real complaint, it was a great mod overall from my experience
@@GudeaTW yeah sorry about that I didn't get that far in the video before I commented, it has been awhile since I played it. Might have even been a different version as I don't recall the mundus Magnus or Britain campaigns being a thing. Definitely gonna check the mod out again after work
Thank you for the presentation ;) This kind of awsome maps make me as much happy than angry to see so much space occupied by rebels settlements 😫 It's really the real pro of modern tittles : minors factions are actual factions with diplomacy available, not just some juicy lands waiting for you to grab it without concequences. I remember mods like EB playing with scripts to try to make those independant cities less isolated.
@@GudeaTW wait, I overlooked mods scene for a while now, so I may misunderstood but... Did you just say that BE 1 has been ported on this huuuuge map ? If it's true, the Indian faction must be impressive !
Haha I do have a small child so I know the pain. So I prefer those smaller maps. Maybe not as small as vanilla, which is too small, but MM map is perfect for me.
I love the the mod, I have been loving the baktria campaign, but the recruitment it's kinda weird, at the second training centre you can train the standard phalanx but you also get the levy one from the first one and for example the Greeks can't do that and it affects the gameplay way too much, as the Greeks you need a minor city or large city to recruit the end game phalanx, I honestly just want to see to religion implemented as a new standard like the cultural conquest mod PD: it's insane how well optimized Rome remastered work with mods
I believe the recruitment aspect is still being worked on. I agree about the optimization - when the mod is well optimized, even the heaviest maps/assets load lightning fast and run smoothly
This mod is so good! And I like this map expanded to other cultures, instead of the crazy thousands of settlements per small territory they did in RTR, which makes the campaign so tedious and repetitive 😢
I played Rome TW as a kid, now I have free time on my hands traveling and would like to play again with these mods. I am on a Mac and have never modded before so I don’t know where to start. I only have my old Rome TW disk. Any tips?
Barbarian Empires: Hellenistic Legacy has unified Rome (for original rtw) and there is a unified rome submod for this remastered version of the original Barbarian Empires as well
That first kind of settlement density has never appealed to me, and has actively always been a turn-off for mods. I can't imagine how much time it must take to properly manage a large kingdom, let alone an empire, and dread to think how many constant battles there must be, rendering them insignificant.
I see what you mean. For me, the perfect version of Kirsi's awesome maps is the one for Chivalry Remastered. It fits in great with the high Medieval time period with so many tiny playable statelets (like the Kingdom of Aragon and the taifas)
I feel all this mods are great but Mundus Magnus map based mods always fail when it comes to India in my opinion. It is a big region and just one or two factions can easily give that part of the world far more interesting campaigns for eastern Greek and nomad factions.
