STEVE, you have now opened a new addition to your family's business! Plan on working at clients homes for a long time! From your Dad's 'jump rock' around pools, to your outdoor kitchen counter tops! Better start havin Kids now cause the family business is gonna really take off ! Oh, forgot to mention You Tube channel too! Good stuff!!!
Haha thanks John! And actually, my wife and I are expecting our first in January! I started my own channel to show our property development/ gun range/ child raising hahaha
You are a true craftsman and it’s great you get to share your passion with your dad. I’m a first generation concrete guy and I would love to share my trade with my dad but he passed away in 2018 so cherish your time together. I will pass on my artisan craftsmanship with my sons Concrete gets into your blood and it can’t be removed no matter how hard it gets. It’s an artist trade that cannot be achieved in any other trade The satisfaction of achieving the result you envisioned in your mind isn’t worth the money that you are payed. It’s about craftmanship and may all your hard work pay off with blessings from above.
I’m sorry to hear about your dads passing. I feel extremely fortunate that I get to work with my dad and my brother everyday. I’m sure your sons will learn a lot from you. Thanks for watching!
What a beautiful job you did with the countertops. Thanks for the indepth explanation on coloring and finishing. It was very enjoyable. Steve you make a great part-time comedian. Jokes were good & dry. Lol
Great job! Save the dust you get off of your first pass when you polish the stained concrete and mix some unknown quantity of that into the epoxy filler you put into the seams. Really nice job!
WOW!! Very nice. I love the way you are diversifying. You could also call yourselves, "Everything Cement". I have been a regular viewer of you channel ever since "Mike" sent me here. You all are true artists. p.r.morehouse - author
Great job on the counter tops Steve. A very educational and interesting video. Concrete counter tops are the perfect finishing touch to an industrial theme kitchen.
Very nice job. I would love to see it after the stone work is done and the grill in place. They did a real nice job on those post and custom steel plates.
About 4 years ago I ran across these forms for countertops. I used to use melamine but anyway they’re called Z countertop forms and they’re a pretty cool design. Great job on the countertop bro.
Great job! I've been using Cheng sealer. It's a bit picky and you can easily get some blushing if you do it wrong. This looks pretty foolproof. With the tack cloth - unfold it all of the way and then refold it back on itself. It renews itself that way and you'll get more use out of it.
Great video and great looking counter tops. You do a good job of explaining the process ... you are a stone cold concrete artist. I know this is probably not in the cards, but I would love to see a quick shot of what the end product looks like ... with the grill and stone walls, etc. ... it looks amazing.
Thanks Steve. Looking forward to the way these counter tops are poured. I was wondering about reinforcement of the concrete, wire, fiberglass or something?
Great job, I love your work. It would have been cool if you did 2 layers of 3/4 mdf coated in epoxy. Ive used it before on my whole kitchen and it works great. If you use the right stuff its good for outside also.
Nice. But if you are selling them, you need to get those to align better. Especially if theres a curve designed into them... The one edge, mating to the next edge, stuck out farther than the other, and you just knocked the corner off. That helps, but.. . Another thing that catches the eye was at 20:14 , theres a definite flat spot in the curve. I'm not trying to knock them, but someone paying big bucks will notice that stuff. Might not be a big deal to some ,but it just needs better measuring at the start planning out your forms.
Thank you! And no, you didn’t miss it. I didn’t have the cameras with me when I was forming and pouring. The next set I do, I’ll make sure I have them so you guys see that part of the process too 👍🏻 thanks for watching!
Steve have you ever done a poured in place countertop ? Talk about pain in the keester, and a mess ! Never again . The way you did it makes sense also more controlled
Awesome job as usual guys lets just try and keep the steelers content to a minimum. I am watching from Bills country up here and not currently happy with you guys beating us on our home turf. Keep up the good work.
Yes, we use that on any decorative surface! I didn’t use it here because they are countertops and nobody should be walking on them haha 🤣 thanks for watching!
Right. I know you wouldn't use on countertop.. I watch a real good portion of your dad's videos.. I prepped and made a stamped pad with steps. 18 yards to be exact..wow so slippie when wet or snow.. So I reached out to mason supply.. He recommended shark bite. Add contents to 5 gallon of sealer..And apply..great stuff and works well.. Just never seen or heard you all mention you use it. Especially around a pool area..
@@robertengster5643 ohhh ok haha I got ya. Yes, there’s all sorts of different products like that but yes, we absolutely use it 👍🏻 it’s a must with a topical sealer! I hope your pour went well!
What a mess. Seams look very tatie, very amateur. Would have been better edges machined and Transparant silicone or apoxy. What an eye saw in total, how much?
