David Barber is a legend and all around great guy

While others try to create a mystery around their pedals by covering things in epoxy and sanding off text, he provides a schematic. What a legend!

Insert jacks are common on mixing consoles and patch-bays. I have default routing from my console to the bay but often use an insert to route to something else for processing. Think ‘routing panel’ in your DAW but physical. Be careful on cabling, I’ve seen many not match the usual TIP-SEND, RING-RCV wiring. Remember, R, Ring, Receive.

Would be cool to have Mr Barber do like commentary reaction to this video... Would be cool to have a series where you have the designer co-hosting the breakdown if they feel gracious

I would like to see a teardown of the GUPtech Quebec EQ Enhancer. It is a very simple pedal with a presence control and on/off switch and a depth control with a switch. It somehow manages to add incredible clarity, kill mud and add a noticeable punch to any dirty sound whether it is used with pedals or in an amp loop. Every reviewer said the same thing that they expected some improvement to their sound but not a startling improvement. They all said it became an always on pedal in their rig. I found it even did its thing on clean sounds without even adding some odd or irritating coloration. It is especially valuable when forced to play at annoyingly low volumes. The sound stays the same and does not become thin and weak. On my Marshall even with just using a single 12" cab it gives the illusion of having that 4x12 cabinet 'thump'. It is well made and a reasonable $100. I couldn't live without it. I have tried many enhancers in the past but they were not near as effective and they all added a very artificial coloration. This just sounds like you own a better amp.

Please do a teardown of the Tefi Golden Era. I'd love to see what is going on inside of that pedal!

How does the effects loop work with a just one plug for in out. I understand the explanation that you use a special cable with out and in on the same cable on the effects box, but how does that work on the other end. Do you have to have an in out on that side that works the same way? Most effects loops would require two cables for the in out, would they not?

Barber rules. Its pretty confusing having pedals named Tone Pump and Tone Press though.

@@barberelectronics5672 Thanks for the info. You ever going to make an SRV pedal that gets that SRV El Mocambo tone?
