Great review. I just want to share something. I didn’t see any similarities between Ken and incel culture. Most little girls who loved Barbie had several Barbies to each Ken they owned. Barbie World reflected how girls play. Girls typically aren’t that into boys at that age. Barbies are just more appealing than the Kens. I know I put thought into the Barbies’ backstories and personalities while Ken was just… there. If you asked the average little girl who Ken is, what he likes, what he does, etc. she may very well say, “he’s just… Ken. He likes Barbie. He doesn’t really have a job. Just… beach”. It’s not about man-hating, it’s just that he’s a background character whose personality is just not that fleshed out. So when he discovers the real world he feels like a main character for the first time. He’s not an a-hole, he’s child-like. I feel like this perspective is missed by a lot of male viewers because they weren’t ever little girls who grew up playing with Barbies.

The movie was amazing and honestly I think people need to look deeper into and actually think about it for a little bit

I truly felt the movie was B grade, just pushing unnecessary sexiest rhetoric that was forced didn’t think it was good. Would’ve been better if it dialled down on the anti men sentiments and made it more equal and Funny it’s just another activism film
