Old hair, new video 😂 I hope you all enjoy the review. This fashion is seriously gorgeous 😍 Tanks for watching ❤️😊 Megan's store: www.dollsonline.com.au/ Find me on Instagram: / dollyhead
I know right. SO glam! I have all my dolls in fur now. I'm going to share a picture of them on IG by the end of the week I think. The colour combo of this outfit is the most. It sold me on it actually 😂❤️😊
What a wonderful set and it looks so perfect on beauty secrets christy! I remember what a huge treat it was to get one of these fashion sets that came in the boxy package- a big step up from the outfits on the cards.
Thanks! ❤️ I thought she was the best choice. She is my favourite doll from that period. I know some people hate her but IDC 😂🤷🏼♂️ Yeah, they are so luxe! Fashions come boxed these days but it just isn't the same 🤷🏼♂️ Maybe because even the cheap ones come boxed some of the time.
It's beautiful! The fur cape is nice, but I think it looks more interesting without it!!! It's very night at Studio 54! The gold trim is what truly makes it very late disco days!
Thank you ❤️ Hmm, interesting! I may have to try that when I do the photoshoot. I am so boring, I always dress dolls the way I am "supposed" to 😂🤷🏼♂️ Late disco days are my favourite! So disco had to end 😭😭😭
Gorgeous fashion displayed on a gorgeous doll, you've chosen the perfect one to go with it. The color scheme is to die for, not so sure about the cut of the cape. When the cape is closed, the poor thing gets swallowed up and she looks like a Critter as she's turned to the side. 😄 Then again, as it's a cape and not a coat that has sleeves, it's not meant to be form-fitted. Lovely review. 💖💖💖
Thank you ❤️😊 I thought it was perfect for her. I usually dress her in darker colours but I love her in this. HAHAHA! That's another good thing about this doll/fashion combo, she can hold the coat open 😂😊❤️
Aww, thank you Joey! ❤️❤️❤️ I have SO much to review! I already have my next fashion review ready to go and I am about to start editing the fashionista video and the care-package opening you sent me. But I am DYING to review my TT dolls and those Gorgeous Creatures. AND Mary of course!! I am also trying to get back into the sewing which isn't going too bad but it is a lot of work 😭
Oh, I wish we got fashions as nice as this Fashion Originals, or even the Fashion Avenue line that followed much later. What a treat to be able to dress your vintage doll in such a fancy fashion. It looked great on the doll you chose. 😊 That time period was a good one not only for Barbie dolls, but for humans too. Such a luxurious, and a bit decadent time for fashion. I remember lots of fun and beautiful perfume commercials. People dressed up and cared more about their appearances. Looking through an actual J.C.Penney's paper catalog to find stuff to wear and have my own sense of style back then. If you think those times looked fun to live in, you're right, they were. 🎀👠🥂
They sure were!!! You are very right. I was just a kid back then but I do remember lots of glamorous adults around .. Most people DID dress up and make an effort. And yes, those super glamorous perfume commercials! I sure remember those.
@@fashiondolldreamer Hi Eddi. I was a kid then too in the 70's. It was a good time to grow up in, especially if you liked Barbies. It's nice to know others remember that fun and glamorous time too. The only drawback to growing up in the 70's for me, was being "too old for dolls" in the 80's. And missing out on all of those fashions and dolls when they were new. Funny how when I hit my 40's and beyond as I am now, I'm not too old for dolls again. LOL
@@Stardustceiling: Yes, I missed out on the 80's Barbies and fashion too, but by then I had switched to fashion magazines, and later became a fashion student in the late 80's and then had a career in fashion until about 2017. I discovered fashion dolls again around 2013/14. LOL yes, one realises that they actually aren't old for Barbies in their 40's, don't they?
Thank you! Indeed, it is so exciting and special. The glamour is everything. I love dressing them, styling them, displaying them. All of that is lost now unfortunately. Oh, how I wish I could go and experience the 70s for just a day, or week. I know things weren't perfect then (nor are they now) but it seems things were so special back then, so unique, new and different.
@@DeanReen: Yes, the late 70's/early 80's were indeed very exciting.... everything changed big-time. Movies, TV, music, fashion (and even dolls!) got very glamourous after many years of not being glamourous at all. Like I always say to you, I wish I could take you back with me in a time machine to experience that time, as it's hard to describe how it really was unless you were there.... (I wish you could see one of those grand fashion shows I used to sneak into when I wagged high school and escaped to the city when I was a teenager! And the nightclubs! And the shopping!!! LOL) But at least the dolls we have carry a little piece of that time, which is great. :)
@DeanReen Mine began breaking down in the early 2000. She had a good run. Lol. I have one Beauty Secrets Christie, left in the box. She will stay frozen in time. For me, to love and stare at🥰🥰🥰
Am not sure is it the original box, this design should under the 'Designer Originals' 1978 and came with the platform ankle strap heels that the material was so stiff that the straps couldn't be fasten and I simply cut off the straps. A similar design named 'In the Limelight' under the same series of lime dress with green cape. I put up this white skirt with the 'Golder Dream' bustier together, a very high fashion look in the 80s.
Yes, it is the correct box. It came in both boxes if I am remembering correctly. You can google "Barbie 2667" and see pictures of both. I have In the Limelight too. I think I unboxed it without filming though 😂❤️
I think the including of Cara’s name on the box will tell something about the correct year of the box. I guess Cara came early 70’s and disappeared around 1976. So what you think?
I believe this fashion first came out in 1978 but who knows 🤷🏼♂️ It could be earlier. I could be wrong but I do think Cara was still available in the late 70s but they were the earlier dolls that were still being produced. I could be wrong though, it is probably better to ask someone that was there at the time 😂 Maybe my friend Eddi will know something about this? You could probably find his comment here somewhere 😂
I know! I just picked her up one day and chunks were missing 😱 I couldn't even see where they went. I may have to rebody her one day or figure out how to fix/replace the hands 😫
The worst thing is she is so beautiful! I’m wondering if she is part of that same era of melting dolls. Is she a 1980 first black Barbie? Maybe she is made from the same materials as the winking western Barbie and the Ken’s whose heads shrunk?
@@seamusmaguire7668 She is Beauty Secrets Christie 😊 I do believe she is from 1980. She doesn't melt from what I have seen. Her hands are just really brittle. They are sort of transparent too. A very cheap quality plastic which is almost clone-like.
I love her face and hair and that is her outfit! The look is timeless chic. But if you can repair her do try. Whatever they were using in 1980, it wasn’t great! Trixie Mattel does a doll video about dolls from the 80s and it’s a common theme.
