Hey I have a perfect back story for bow! Here it is I hope you like it because I spent all day working on this! Bow was born in an African family,she always wanted to travel to different countries. At her first day of high school she was bullied for being black!But then one day she found a friend! Her name was (random name) Berry. Berry was raised on a farm! Bow and Berry were like birds if a feather! They were bff's! At the age of 18 bow finished high school then started college in America! This was a very exciting day for her because she had never been there before! Bow then studied to become a (forgot the name). Yeah that's all I got!
I've been waiting for that one doll to come out and when I last went to my local Wal-Mart there was only one of her left. She's mine now. I think she's one of the prettiest Fashionistas ever.

I just wanted to say I am creeping up on 24 years old now and I am SO glad Barbie is more inclusive these days, with different body and hair types, and skin tones. I always wanted to have a doll house full of uniquely different barbies when I was little, but I was limited back then - One body type, maybe three different skin tones. I am so glad kids now have the option to have these beautiful and diverse dolls. :)
I have 90, Rainbow Sparkles and she is so beautiful! I gave my a name of Jasmin Nicole. (Nicole after the name of my orthopedics's front desk help. Rainbow Sparkles reminds me so much of Nicole) I want to see more dolls of color in my area. It's so hard and heart breaking to see just light tones after a time. Hello, we're not all the same skin tone. I love all colors.

I would love that, instead of Barbie Fashionistas getting some extra fashion, they could get more articulation. I don't know why they seemed to have stopped the extra fashion. As for backstories: GG loves nature and fashion designing and runs a store where she designs and sells picnic blankets and scraps of fabric. Pink owns a dance studio and loves to sew, so she buys a lot of fabric very often and turns them into curtains, and decorations, for her dance studio, as well as costumes for her students. Star is a professional piano player and works with Pink by creating the music for the performances of Pink's students. Star also went to theater camp with GG as a kid, so that's how she knows her. Bow plays rock guitar and used to be an employee of GG before she joined a band with Star. She often helps Star create some of the music for the dance recitals of Pink and her students. All while she is studying to be a meteorologist. For Zena, I decided to keep the part about running the renaissance festival, but she also is a worker at the shoe store "Don't be Late for your Laces!" Because of GG, Pink, Star, and Bow all go to the festival (and the shoe store), Zena knows everybody. And that is how they all know each other!
I love how different all the fashionistas are. It's beautiful how much the world has changed and it's great that everyone gets to celebrate their differences and diversities.

star's back ground story is when star was little she loved dressing up and performing plays for her parents and dolls and she'd use her teddy bears as spare people then her mom took her to the nutcracker she was so fascinated that when she got older she realized when she was a kid she adored plays she thought other children would love it too! she decided to spread her love for plays to many kids

I think GG grew up in a house next to the beach with her uncle and became a life guard. I think Pink lived next to a salon her whole life and decided to work there as a hair dresser. I think Star decided to become a teacher and she did so because, her mother was a teacher. I think Bow is an artist and she became one because, she loved rainbow as a child and wanted to use the colors of the rainbow for everything. I think Xena Octavia grew up in the city and decided to become a model.

I had the same problem with a very limited supply of the new Fashionistas at my local Wal-Marts also. I think they haven't gotten their real stock in yet, that this is just an advance bunch of them. If you wait till they start stocking up for Christmas, there will probably be a lot of them at that time. And when they do, I am buying another #90 to do an up-do on and dress up in fancier clothing. if i were you i'd take a polaroid of each doll or at least a picture with your phone and i'd write their name on the white space of the polaroid, similar to the way designers do it with model castings. it'd add a cool touch and also help you keep track of your names/faces
I found Bow at my local Walmart about a week ago and I've named mine Ororo after Storm from the X-Men Comics and she's a model. Lol! I just love how you creat back stories for your dolls and I'll be on the lookout for your Froggy Fresh doll! Love Ya!

Agreed. Notice how Froggy re-bodies nearly all the dolls she uses in her skits. "5 points of articulation" is lame and just doesn't cut it. Yet Mattel keeps putting out the same old-school stiff bodies. I guess they figure they'll get at least $23 for each "new look" doll that way.
ThatClassic70sGirl Pretty much, and don't even get me started on Mattel's "there's no market for black dolls/dolls of color" excuse. Because you know what's funny? It's the dolls with different skintones that sell out faster, while blonde, blue eyed Barbie sits on the shelf because no one wants ANOTHER blonde Barbie clone in their collection just to get a different shirt/pants/skirt/etc.
I think Bows back story is this-plus please give me a shoutout^^ She grew up pretty poor :( then she saw a rainbow for the first time and thought it was so magical and stunning that she would make wishes on it! The first wish she made was to see more of those rainbows, and that happened! She wished to see more of them most of the time, but then she thought to make wishes for herself and her family! So she wished for better clothes, food, home, and more! Before she new it she was living a normal life style!
