The new Merc 500hp is pretty cool, but found that the Cox 300hp V8 outboard Diesel has more torque at lower rpms, which means a faster plane and even in tight turns doesn't lose torque or rpms like the rest do. It does weigh more at 866lbs, however the pros out weigh the cons. And fuel mpg's forget about it, it blows them all out of the water. One tank to make it from Miami to Nassau and back, with no stops at Bimini for fuel. Impressive !
