ikr!! what a bummer:/ i think it has to do with the extra pricing that comes with licensed products, but that’s usually just an extra 5 bucks. MTM’s are sold at 15 dollars and these dolls are 20. i get that they come with extra accessories but i feel like they totally could’ve squeezed the made to move bodies in the budget :(
I do! I liked it when she said that because it actually made me want to do everything she did. She still is amazing at her crafts and I think she should keep doing them. People could tell her what they want and she make it, then she sell it to them! She’d make a lot of money
Funny thing, I pretty much said the exact same thing about them having articulated bodies instead of made to move bodies when I first saw these. I really don't understand the reasoning behind not making them MTM. Like you said, these are Olympiand - the best of the best athletes - to me, that pretty much demands MTM. I love the face sculpts but if I get these, I'm going to have to head swap them because my I just can't have my non-athlete dolls being able to show up my athlete dolls.
It's almost like the 2020 Olympics have now exclusively taken place in the dollyverse! These dolls are really cool and I imagine they'll be quite the collector piece in years to come. I do wish they had been made to move though.
Im a sport climber and I got the climbing doll for my birthday! These dolls are really great so if you are thinking about getting one I really recommend this!

I love the skateboarder's face. She's got a broader nose and a wider mouth. That plus the natural brows make her look a lot like me. Confidence booster!
Its sad how cheaply these dolls were made. At 9:26 you can see how the top of the legs are shiny and the rest is matte. Also the elbow joints look like theyre about to fall off. Such a shame...
I love the surf doll. Also that other piece on the surf board next to the part that holds the feet goes on the rist not the foot. It’s so the wave doesn’t take the board a away.
My Favorite🤩is the Skateboarder barbie, she is curvy and I like her soft expression. Plus those detailed accessories are Awesome! The Tokyo 2020 Olympics Jackets are a Great deal too.💚
I got the skateboarder as soon as I could! She's my favorite of the series. She's gorgeous, and I love her hair! I was expecting it to be straight/slightly wavy like the picture, but it's actually curly, and I don't mind it. Plus she has an Asian appearance, so that's always a plus for me. :D I'm with you - I love her face sculpt! The Fashionista with the green streaked hair and silver dress has the same one, and she's another one of my favorites. I also got the karate one because I always need more martial arts dolls! I'm super excited to see karate in the Olympics! As for the Olympic fashion packs, I believe there will be some coming out! :) I saw them on another website, just not sure when. :D Idea for you - could you make a traditional Japanese room (tatami rugs, feature wall/closet, etc.)? :D
I think Karate Barbie is my favourite, a Barbie Fabletics collaboration would be awesome. I feel like their some of their outfits could be more colourful 🤔
It's sad that these dolls aren't made-to-move dolls, but I do love how they are more-than-normally articulated and that each and everyone looks different. I think these dolls are a buy.
Froggy, you should make an episode on Sommer and Cali where Nigel proposes to Sommer, she says yes, and Alex is upset and wants to ruin the wedding. And, Damon finds out what Jazz did. He is mad at her, but they have to walk up the isle together as bridesmaid and groomsman!!!!!!!! XD
Also, Cali should finally discover Nick's name, tell everyone about it, and all of them will just be like, "WHaAaAaaaAAAAATt!?!?!?!?!??!", but especially Damon because that is his brother. And just like Damon and Jazz, they should walk down the isle together!!!!!! :) I'm exited for this episode to happen, even when it probably won't!
These dolls are so cute! I love the surfer and the softball player! American girl also came out with stuff like this! It was called Team USA collection!
They already have one. It’s called Barbie and Her Sisters in A Pony Tale, it came out in 2013. I feel like there are more older ones, but I could be wrong. I recommend Horse Land or The Saddle Club if you like equestrian shows!
Definitely a buy... if not for the history and the collectability alone! I do agree that they should have made to move bodies and honestly I would have paid a little bit more if they had done so. But they look okay and accessories they all come with are up to par!

I bought the skateboarder because she was curvy. I had the surfer in my cart, but didn't like that her legs were two different textures. Shiny and matte.
Really wish you could be a little bit more critical towards the huge lack of quality mattel is offering at the “signature” label dolls, like you used to be few years ago... You are one of the big voices of the doll community!!! Check the new BMR1959 wave and you will see they unfortunately have the playline pixelated face paint/printing. This so sad, if you zoom on their faces is just a pure mess.
I got the surfer online but had to return her because her makeup and accessories were much darker than the product pics... the lipstick was berry rather than nude. Such a shame; the photos are stunning.
