This is the 1st time in probably 6-7 years where I'm ACTUALLY going to the movie theaters to watch. I can't remember the last movie I saw where I was excited to see it!
I know exactly how you feel..and I feel the same way. I'm a total Barbie girl to this day. I think her magic is there are so many possibilities for Barbie and yourself while you played with your Barbie's..lots of imagination and dreams and so much fun!!!❤
@@ranieromaximino668 Alice Cooper came up with the idea for the Matrix (people being used as batteries) when he saw his daughter play with a battery operated Barbie. He wrote the song 'Feed My Frankenstein' about it and that's what the Wachowskis based the Matrix on - with Neo in place of Frankenstein.
@@ranieromaximino668 Really? One pill makes you Larger and One Pill makes you Small. You've never heard that before? The Wachowski Brothers said in the press Before the first Matrix film ; that they were greatly influenced by Lewis Carroll's " Alice's Adventures in Wonderland".
The fact that Ken didn't believe that woman was a doctor is kind of mind blowing. Barbie is a Doctor, Astronaut and more but he won't believe that woman is a doctor.
My theory is that Ken saw the sexism prevalent in the real world and was trying to take advantage of it, kind of like a kid reflecting the world around them
Some people have theorised that Ken is going to become sexist after seeing the real world and how the gender dynamics are reversed in Barbieland. There's a clip where Barbieland has been changed to Kendom so it's likely Ken might be a bit of an antagonist with the men in the real world.
@@inshirahsheherin1379 If you pause at 2:13 just before the woman says ending, there's a car with two of the Barbies and Allan turning around. Inside the rainbow in the background where it normally says Barbieland, Kendom is written instead.
"As ideas remain forever, the trailer promises to deliver a flick to remember"💖 A film that had been keeping such a suspense about its plot and story from recent months, has finally hinted about how exactly the film is going to be. The trailer looks promisingly amazing as it should be with a lot of dazzles in its world. The real world exploration is a call for a wondrous fun. Greta Gerwig has definitely created something worth to witness and can't wait to watch this. The cool cast thriving in the pink realm of dazzles is so much zestful to watch. Margot Robbie is great as always and so is Ryan Gosling. Margot's Barbie character portrayal is for sure gonna be an iconic attempt. The Fun awaits...💖💕💕
Honestly the production pf movies can be super unpredictable so I’m not surprised it made an appearance. There’s always things being taken out or put back in last minute.
54 year old woman here--went to see Barbie this weekend--it is really good! I saw a lot of Moms and Dads with their little girls dressed as different Barbies--so awesome! I think most of the humor was wasted on the little girls, but the clothes and silliness was on point! Made me miss my Barbies so much!
This movie....it just might be genius. First of all Gretna Gurwig is the creator and director. It's visual direction looks really incredible in most places and the plot, from what I can tell from this trailer, is going to be freaking bonkers with the matrix, mannequin, toy story as inspirations and questioning existence..... It might be going toooo hard for a Mattel ™️ Barbie feature film aimed obviously at children... But because of all that, it could be one of the defining movies ever... lol as you can see i now have really high expectations and if it's not brilliant i will be so upset at myself for being fooled into watching a freaking Barbie movie lol
I don't think this movie is aimed at children, it's aimed at us, adults who were kids who played with those toys or hated these toys but either way they were part of our childhood.
It looks great visually, the cinematography is well done, but the jokes feel a bit forced. I'm going to catch Oppenheimer instead on opening weekend, but I'll watch Barbie the next weekend. I have to see how this plays out on the big screen.
@@jimmyboydonald6578 I thought about that, but now my plan is to wait for them both to come out on streaming and then watch them at the same time with special glasses so that each eye is watching one screen. BOPPENHARBIE Opens July 21
How do you put an Indigo Girls song in a Barbie movie? I'm so confused. Although, I do love that Kate McKinen is in this. That alone will justify the ticket price.
@@dewsplash oh my love. Barbie movies have sold 110 million units. That's just the childhood movies. Even if people watch it for the nostalgia it's going to make a lot of money.
@@callmeyourdai5y518 Never said it wouldn't. I just don't think it will make a billion. Could be wrong though and you bring up a good point about all those Barbie movies which have sold well.
Like at least Mattel is trying to give us a Barbie movie that we can all enjoy that will be like a Barbie straight to DVD films in the live action form
I bet in the real world Barbie will go threw a fear of dying and being forgotten because the teen girls aren't amazed by her, might see the other doll competition, as well as seeing the controversy the Barbie brand faces. And then she mets the old lady, who will probably say she played with barbies and how happy Barbie made her and then says to Barbie the line at the end of ideas living forever.
