In the past writers have said that Barbara Streisand has the greatest voice in the history of recorded music. This was taped in 1966. “Funny Girl” the film would not come for two more years. This is a great example Barbra’s transition from star to superstar. She takes a popular song of the day and puts her imprint on it. Her live performances in the early CBS specials are nothing short of electrifying in my humble opinion. This woman wanted to be an actress. Singing was secondary to her ambitions. Look at what the world got. A different example of beauty. A voice that will never be surpassed in it’s range and power. A brilliant woman who had control over her career. I could go on. I urge everyone to explore her early work. A talent that will never come again. I hope that future generations will be able to listen to and watch a performance like this.
'Remembering Rhode Island Jazz pianist, Mike Renzi who passed today at 80 Sept 29th, 2021 on piano here accompanying Barbara Streisand on Her recording of 'C'est si bon' Mike Renzi was a masterful Jazz pianist in every sense 'Rest in peace Mike Renzi'
