The walk starts on the Hackpen Hill (south) side of the hillfort and follows the farm track north until meeting the main road leading to the official car park. We follow this road past the entrance to Barbury Shooting School, before ascending steeply (as you can tell from the sound of my breathing!) and following the route back through the car park and on to the hillfort and the start point.
