I love this piece; Offenbach's work was the first classical music I developed a love for, then came Gershwin, and Van Cliburn playing Tchaikovsky's piano concerto in Russia. This piece is also one of the themes in the John Irving film, The Hotel New Hampshire.

Barcarola va entrar a la meva vida, a la infantesa i per la ràdio (segurament era un anunci publicitari) i entremig plorava un infant, jo estava encuriosida perquè plorava? Però va ser una bonica manera d'introduirme en la música clàssica, per mi tot un referent.

Hardly surprising, these ladies are a fraction of their ages,with very little experience as yet , they are beginning what I predict will be a long and glorious careers. To my mind I actually prefer these students.
