The Barcelo Bavaro Beach in Punta Cana, is an adult only resort located on two beautiful miles of the famed Bavaro Beach in the Dominican Republic. You will find endless fun or relaxation at this resort and everything in between. There are a total of 73 Superior Ocean Front Rooms with Premium Level and they are all steps from the beautiful Bavaro Beach. These rooms offer a choice of one king bed or two double bed with pillow top mattresses. Other features and amenities include; air conditioning, 42" television, stocked minibar, bathrobes and slippers. As an added bonus, a stay in this room unlocks exclusive amenities via the Premium Level.
Premium Level is the elevated service program offered by Barceló Hotels & Resorts with the aim of exceeding the expectations of guests. It includes many benefits and perks, that include, but are not limited to; exclusive check in and check out area (Premium Level Lounge), exclusive access to the Premium Level Lounge, complimentary access to Pirates Island Waterpark, 24 Hour Room Service, access to all a la carte restaurants including La Comedie and access to the U Spa hydrotherapy area for 45 minutes per day and one 20 minute massage.
The resort is located on the Barcelo Bavaro Grand Resort property which houses both the Barcelo Bavavo Beach (adult only) and Barcelo Bavaro Palace (adult and family) which is approximately 20 minutes from the airport. The open air lobby is the heart of the resort and where you'll find the front reception, guest services, the tour desk, internet cafe and the Premium Level Lounge. The main lobby provides direct access to many areas of the resort including a the theatre, the lobby bar, the Caribe Restaurant and as you'll see, the ocean and pool area.
A whopping 80% of the rooms at this resort have beach/ocean views and you'll find all the amenities you need for a perfect couples vacation or a vacation getaway with friends. The beach is unbeatable, the pool is massive and includes a jacuzzi in the middle, the pool bar offers fantastic drinks, two onsite a la carte restaurants, an amazingly fun lobby bar and adjacent theatre.

We are leaning towards an all inclusive in the DR to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. The reason is we are avid cigar smokers, and the DR is where a great many of our favorites are manufactured. Is this or any other resort "cigar friendly?" I don't mean some banished smoker section that is designed for that 5 minute cigarette. I mean the outdoor spaces such as patio, poolside, beach, and if I were to dream big, outdoor dining and bar areas.

Hi Sharon, first, thank you for stopping by the channel and for asking such a great question. There are designated smoking areas throughout the resort. I didn't count how many or take note of where they were located as did these tours early morning and didn't see people out smoking yet. That said, there are two areas at the adjacent sister resort, Barcelo Bavaro Palace, that you have access to that allow smoking. The Cigar, Rum and Coffee bar on the upper level of the Palace lobby allows smoking and even brings in a vendor who offers cigars for purchases. There are also areas of the casino (at the Palace Resort) that allow smoking. As a reminder; guests staying at Barcelo Bavaro Beach have access to Barcelo Bavaro Palace. Thanks for the video. Is that room representative of all the superior rooms? One can tell the mattress is clearly worn out by the 2 obvious troughs where people have slept over the years. I've seen badly worn furniture in other videos of there.

I didn't have the opportunity to tour all rooms at the resort, so I can really say if this issue was isolated to this room, or if it was resort wide. In situations like this I would encourage everyone to evaluate the resort as a whole and not to focus on individual elements. That said, it is wise to consider some elements as more important to you as you evaluate. If you plan on spending a lot of time in your room or if you're not the best sleeper then perhaps you may want to look at an upgraded room. An upgraded room can provide newer furniture, nicer views and in better locations.
