correct assessment. we were there mid march with kids and grandparents and everyone had a blast. kids definitely want us to plan the next trip there too. i don't think i have anything to complain about. the buffet is split in 2, mexican and international, and the mexican one is by far the best. every night they had different mexican dishes but every night they had a massive bowl of guac and amazing salsa. i always ended my meal with those and chips. one night they even had sashimi with a multitude of selections plus sashimi bowls. with kids we didn't end up going to the a la carte restaurants. kids water parks are amazing as well, i never once thought 'every day i spend it watching them play and not do anything' because they have staff walking around and bringing you drinks and there is always entertainment around. but the absolute best thing you see at barcelo maya is the beach. yes, it can be with seaweed, but it's on a coral reef so you get to swim with a bunch of aquatic creatures, from many fish to stingrays and turtles. kids loved that too. ONE BIG TIP: bring water shoes, your feet will thank you. since the beach is on a coral reef, there are many sharp rocks you can step onto and if you get a windy day with waves, you're not going to enjoy the sea too much without those.
Great review.I have been there at the Barcelo Maya Beach in January 2023 and my daughter and I reeeeeally enjoyed every second of our trip and I am thinking about going back very soon.I really fell in love with Cancun,Mexico😍
thanks for your video, I've the same good opinion on the hotel and was there many times the last 10 years. In these ten years I see not good changes in the evening entertainment. the shows where before corona a lot better. Looks like they have to save money... but nevertheless I will also go this year to my favorite resort...
How does one reserve dinner at the a la carte restaurants? Is it by phone or online and can one reserve in advance rather than each day? Is the lobby air conditioned?
you are spot on with this review ! we stayed at the Barcelo Maya Palace the last two years and decided to try something different this year so we stayed at the Moon Palace and doesn't even compare to the Barcelo !! We just got back July 27th and we were ready to leave after the 3rd night ! Barcelo is way better and would definitely go back which we will for sure !
I hear you. I've been to Moon Palace. Although I can understand their take on product offering, there's just something about Barcelo that makes it the right place for so many. If you ever get the chance to visit the Riviera (adult) section, make sure you don't miss the opportunity. You'll love it! Thanks for watching!
@@travpedia ive stayed at a few other places in the Riviera Maya like a couple different Iberostar and the Grand Palladium and my favorite is the Barcelo with probably the Iberostar 2nd. The Moon Palace just doesn't compare !! I would love to stay at the Grande at the Barcelo but my daughter is only 16 lol and were stuck taking her for a few more years !
@@Charles-nk3ep hey just a few more years you can take her there too! The Iberostar Paraiso and Selection Cancun are both beautiful places too. Palladium I love for the modern-ness they have going - which goes for almost all Costa Mujeres resorts to be honest. Stay tuned I actually have a video on Iberostar Selection on the Cancun strip dropping in a few days. Subscribe and keep it locked! If you have half an hour also check out this list of BUCKETLIST places we put together it's a good watch if you want to do some world travelling!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Cyg3qY1d8AQ.html
I enjoyed your video. I have stayed at the Barcelo before ( Colonial and Maya Beach). I was wondering if you had a special permission for the use of a drone. I didn't bring mine the last time I went because I wasn't sure. Thanks.
George 🐼is fab …. Panda of very few words but his sentiments are brilliantly conveyed by you 👍🏼👍🏼 Thanks for the info, great location love the highlights and short video full of insightful features Barcelo Riviera Mexico 🇲🇽here we come! 5:05
One night around dusk, we were walking along the beach pathway... a few lifeguards called us over... they were releasing about 100 baby sea turtles, that they had hatched.... I shot a video during the experience, but doesn't compare to that real life experience!!
Yes the bowling alley and games are addition charge the last time we checked. Make sure you check out our special booking offer at Barcelo in the description if you haven't booked yet!
Since when is going into detail about the restaurants "beyond the scope"? That's a huge part of the experience. No information is included about the drinks, beers, liquors, bars, restaurants, or buffets (other than about chicken).
We went to the moon palace in 2000 and to Barcelo in 2024. My family of 6 decided we all enjoyed the experience better at moon palace. I think the muggy long wait and slow check in system really turned us off at Barcelo. Activities like the surfing flow rider were not included but at moon palace, it is.
I stayed at the barcelo maya palace. The complex and the ocean was very nice. The food was atrocious. The food was bland with little to no seasoning. The rooms were okay and the staff was super friendly. Overall, I give this resort a 5 out of 10.
@@travpediaOk. I will be in Cancun twice this year and planning for 2024. I do travel solo. Debating if I should try out Cabo, maybe Puerto Vallarta?? Do I stick with an AI?? I don't drink but I do like being around people. Just concerned if I go to PV and being I speak no spanish if it's safe or not to stay in a hotel like Hotel Rosita.
Absolutely correct Marvin! For all wondering, the Riviera (adults only) section is the highest in the hierarchy. If you stay at the Barcelo Maya Palace, you can access the Palace, and the next 4 hotels only as mentioned in the video. Happy vacationing!
@@travpedia go check out their reviews. I mean yes there is possibility that they might be good but how come there is no shortcoming at all. Everything is just so spectacular according to you which sounds like so unrealistic. Moreover you haven’t only cover your tour experience but “Event” point of view as well 😅. Who does that? Owner! Franchisee! Management! Or the one who has been paid to just show the good side in highlighted way. Come on!
@@Fatimabtw We can understand your confusion now that you've elaborated. The presenter of this video is in the Travel/Tourism industry (not affiliated with any hotels or tour operators however). His business has involved him traveling to thousands of hotels for corporate and wedding events in the past decade. That is why he's here presenting a view of the hotel which is unique to his experience and more well rounded (including events and weddings). He also does not review hotels that he doesn't like or personally recommend. That said, he's been to this particular hotel complex more than 3-dozen times. Being deeply rooted in the industry, our advice to you is understanding the fact that guests are more compelled to write negative reviews (for ANY business, not just hotels) when they have a bad experience. If you multiply this by the tens-of-thousands that visit a massive hotel like Barcelo, the math starts to make more sense, more quickly. Our team travels very frequently and has discovered some of the best properties to visit have questionable reviews at times. Barcelo, like any hotel, has it's shortcomings. That is for each individual to conclude in their subjective right. In conclusion, this review is not sponsored, and if it was, it wouldn't hurt or damage the presenter or the channel in any way to let you know that it was. However, in a free world, you are also free to deduce what you'd like, which includes continued suspicion. If any further concerns or speculation exist for you, feel free to contact us at the email address in our channel description. Happy Traveling Fatima!
If you stay at the palace you have access to the other 4 lower class hotels (tropical, colonial, beach and caribe). You can visit the adults only for dinner at an added cost. But you can't go there with kids. FYI... All the rooms at the adults only have Jacuzzi in the balcony.
This resort is hyped up. Experience at lobby soon turned long and dreadful. You might want to arrive an hour before checkin time! We basically waited 1.5 hours in line waiting in this hot lobby with no a/c! Check in is at 3pm and kids pool closes at 6. I went at the hottest time of the yr but why not close all the windows/doors and turn it on during the hottest time of the day? Their check in system is so outdated and slow. In addition, it’s not all inclusive. A lot of the activities are extra and their own guest services seem to not know where the activities they posted are at because they are spread around the other neighboring barcelo resorts. They have few attendants at check in and only 2 at guest services. Wait is long
