Come along with me and my friends (Ffion and Polly) for three nights in Barcelona! We booked a package holiday through Jet2 and flew from Leeds Bradford Airport to Barcelona in July 2023, staying at the Gallery Hotel. I did something a little different this time and chose to rent a power-chair in Barcelona rather than fly with my own, which meant relying on airport assistance - which was amazing much of the time, but not without its struggles!
We visited the incredible Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, Ciutadella Park and more, travelled around via the level access Metro... and my personal highlight was spending a sunny afternoon at Nova Icaria beach - known as one of the best wheelchair-accessible beaches in Europe. And using the off-road, beach wheelchair meant I could swim in the sea for the first time in years!
Hope you enjoy the vlog, and if you're planning a similar trip to Barcelona with a disability or chronic illness, I really hope you find this video helpful!

Hello! My name is Pippa Stacey and I’m a disabled writer, presenter, and communications consultant based in York. I enjoy theatre, books, and fundraising, and can most often be found wearing some form of pyjamas and drinking all the tea.
I acquired my chronic illness as a young adult and struggle daily with the challenges of living my best life alongside managing a debilitating health condition. However, I’ve finally learned that I don’t have to ‘overcome’ or ‘defy’ my illness in order to be successful, and there’s truly nobody’s path to follow but your own.
You can find out more by visiting www.lifeofpippa.co.uk, and subscribe to see videos about working, travelling, and learning to make the most of life alongside my chronic illness. Thank you so much for being here!
