Messi is simply being Messi. Barcelona did their homework and took a leap of faith by signing him. There was Barcelona before Messi and there will be Barcelona after Messi. They also have a pretty great record when Messi is out (Especially against Madrid). As long as other players continue to make their runs and do the basics consistently, Barcelona has no problem.

The sudden departure of Neymar has affected their continuity until now, haven't been as consistent since. Never really found that 3rd striker. Plenty of talent but not enough of the same players playing together often enough to develop close relationships (other than Messi-Suarez and maybe Alba-Messi). Dembele injured too often. Disagree there is a defensive crisis other than the effect of Umtiti having an extended injury. Too much blame being heaped on a coach of moderate success who is managing a transitional phase as many new players coming in, including giving chances to quite a few academy players.
