I remember in Madrid a TSA lady asked me “why do you come here if you don’t speak Spanish?” I responded by saying “because I’m a tourist. Without people like me, your economy will be destroyed” didn’t know if those were the right words at the time since I was heated. But that’s cool. You don’t like tourist. Great. We’ll just take our money elsewhere🤷🏾‍♂️

How rude! Believe me, I'm sure she had a problem and I'm sure she was like this to everybody, even Spanish people. We respect tourists and we are honored that people would like to visit our country. Receive our apologies from us, the normal Spanish citizens.

Agreed!!! I’ll not be supporting Spain in anyway at all after this. I’ve extensively traveled it already and it wasn’t particularly special to me anyways compared to the rest of Europe 🤷🏻‍♀️

In the late 1960s my father lived in Barcelona not far from La Rambla for about 2 years before moving to the UK in the 70s and I asked him... "Why did you move from Spain a hot beautiful country to the UK" his response was prompt and short... "The job market is unstable, finding a secure job in a place like Barcelona is hard" Barcelona needs Tourism out of Barcelona's $100 Billion economy, $15 Billion is Tourism alone which is a huge chunk. Also Barcelona doesn't belong to the Spanish government it belongs to the Catalonians!
