On the tipping side, I must emphatize that tipping is a real tip here. Only tip if you are satisfied. No one will look you bad or treat you differently if you don't tip. Tip is considered a nice gesture for good service, not a mandatory thing.

Cool little tip: T10 cards are also valid for the trip from the city center to the airport and the other way around, but only for the train and the bus number 46 or N16/N17 (night buses), not the Aerobus. A T10 costs you 9.95€ and gives you 10 journeys, so you can basically go from the airport to the city center for under 1€. Of course the bus number 46 is a normal city bus, so it can be a bit uncomfortable if you carry around big luggage, but anyway, I think the deal is pretty good. Hope it helps someone to save a little more! PD: And of course, you can buy the T10 at the train station, at terminal 2 of the Airport.

Alex, just got back from Barcelona and I can easily see why this is a Food City. In fact while I did have some Spanish food including one of the few good tapas places (most "tapas" are just a mishmash of meals in smaller portions, or tourist restaurants), my favorite food experiences were things I didn't even think I'd get in Barcelona. I had great Japanese food. I had great pizza. I had great baked goods. Oh my god, baked goods are so good in Barcelona! Also I love Barcelona bars. Not only are they everywhere, but many are open for breakfast so you can get an espresso and your morning pastry or whatever. Finally, espresso! It is everywhere! This is a city that LOVES its coffee. Espresso machines are everywhere in this city. One of the shop owners told me that espresso machines are given for free but then you have to buy the beans through that vendor only. So this means even places that normally wouldn't serve coffee serve coffee. T-10 ticket for transit. Holy hell this is such a solid transit system. Bus and metro is awesome. Tram is kind of out of the way but I guess is okay once you're in the area. Credit card usage was no problem everywhere, including transit.

Barcelona is a beautiful city and I would definitely recommend visiting. It’s a very safe city to travel by yourself. The first time I visited this city I went by myself and I was nervous because I had never visited Europe and didn’t know what to expect. From the airport I took the bus which went straight to the city center. I liked that It has free wifi. I got there at night and walked a few blocks from the bus stop to my hotel and was a little scared at first but it after being there for a couple days I realized that it was a very safe city and there’s no reason to be scared. Sometimes I was out during the middle of the night and never felt any danger. I never had any problems with pickpockets. I always carried a backpack with a lock and never got anything stolen. Definitely visit this beautiful city, I’m hoping to go back after covid, hopefully Messi is still playing with barcelona haha.

8:06 watch your wallet ! So accurate. Thanks for mentioning that. We were in Barcelona just 3 weeks ago. On our last evening around 4pm, we were walking back to hotel from Metro station, a pickpocketer opened our backpack and took the phone out, we caught him live and snatched our phone back and confronted him. No one in public came to back us up and he casually walked away. These pickpocketers have a unique personality. One way to identify them is when you see someone walking around in a crowded location and eyeying on tourist's bags. We feel lucky to get our phone back :)

@@rsnankivell1962 Jotas are singing along Ebre river, not dancing, and in Catalan, not in Spanish, for example Quico El Celio singer. Or also in Catalonia there are Gegants i Cap Grosos, and in Aragon Gigantes y Cabezudos. But these are because the river was a natural comunications way for centuries. Or because Aragon and Catalonia were part of Aragon Crown (not Kingdom who is a confusion), and also part of Tarraco province in previously Rome times.

My two sisters and I, in our 50's, were dropped off in downtown Barcelona on their Catalonia National Day. It was an experience. It felt like Family Day. At a certain hour from one end of of this huge street starts "The Wave" with a loud ROAR and comes back again. The people who stood near us, are proud people, and were very happy to share their history with us while we were there. Also Gaudi, who I had not idea who he was, we couldn't get enough of how brilliant this man was. We went into a few of his structures and was blown away. Pick pockets, see that young 20 something nicely dress women there well we were told by a local to be careful, she's a pick pocket. We wondered why she was following us for a few minutes. We would have never suspected it, but keep your goods in front of you and your cameras close by. It's a beautiful city and we walked around a lot of it and felt safe.

I live in Barcelona. Prices are a bit off. A 10 pack metro ticket costs a little less than 10euro (9.95). A coffee costs 1.30 (unless you're in a more touristy part and can expect to pay upwards of 1.90). A good glass of red wine is between 2.50-3.50. A good gauge of whether or not a place is touristy is it's price on patatas bravas. If it's more than 4 euro could be a sign! Also try to eat away from the ramblas. It's the worst quality and known for it's places that only cater to the tourists.

Update: I just got back from my trip in Barcelona in November 2016. You can get to to Passaig de Garcia for 1Euro on the Rodalies train departing from Terminal 2B. There is a free airpot shuttle to Terminal 2B. You can purchase the 10 (train) trips for 9.95 Euro from the machine at the train station. This ticket can be used on the Rodalies train and the Barcelona city subway. The 10 trip ticket is also a multiperson ticket, meaning you can share this train ticket with your friends (or travel group). In my opinion this is the cheapest way to get to Passaig de Garcia ( Barcelona city centre).

Wow, thanks! What kind of information would you like us to expand on?

Attaché well just general info. for example in this video you only mentioned a couple of the foods and you said it yourself that you could talk about more so may be the other version can include the things that you wanted to talk about but couldn't just to keep the video short? I would also like a segment where you can may be tell us "why" I should visit that place? I mean you always include some bits and pieces to tell us what's cool about a city but may be a dedicated segment just to tell us what makes the city unique and why I should see it? Just my $0.02 :)

Thanks, that was helpful. It would be helpful to let folks know they should have tickets (online/printed?) for Sagrada, Park Güelle, Monserrat, etc. We bought our yesterday @ home (NM/USA) for next week!

When I was in Barcelona, I figured they had the best food. I noticed that even their restaurant chains had fresh high quality food. Prices were better than what you get in Canada. I was very surprised.

My favorite place was the inside of La Sagrada Familia. I've asked so many people who went to the city if they saw the cathedral, and then they say of course. Then I ask did you go inside? Nope 😞 it's worth the wait!!

the cheapest way to get from the airport to the city is bus 3X(forgot the exact route number) or a train/bus journey with a T-10 card

Barcelona subway is like a sauna from June to October. I think Europe needs to use air-conditioning since global climate has already been seriously messed up. Soon there won't be a winter. One thing i like about Barcelona is that despite the crowds of tourists, the Catalan people are still friendly and polite to foreigners. Another thing I like is they have big supermarkets downtown in the city. Their museums are underrated but cheap and good.

Love the Catalan remarks :-) Now, regarding food... what more traditional than Pa amb Tomaquet (bread with tomato) :-) Kind of a Catalan bruschetta with tons of personality and incredible flavors:-) Bon profit! :-)
