Monday August 5 2024 at 17.46 and 17.50. The 15.00 Edinburgh to London (19.38) & the 17.08 Hull to London (19.44) trains. First came here 6 years ago • Barcroft Level Crossing and • Barcroft Level Crossing. Surprised I didn't come here before 2015 when it still had gates. I filmed the gates further north at Lowgate in 2014. Not sure that being the crossing keeper here was much fun years ago. Firstly the house was very small with only two small bedrooms upstairs and probably no bath, shower, electricity or gas in the 1950's. Secondly the noise from large numbers of steam trains speeding past must have been hard to live with. Very difficult to see how the yellow box here is necessary.
