It was a punishment worse than death to frieza. He was unrivalled for as long as he lived and suddenly a lowly saiyan not only defeated him. He was defeated one-sidedly. He was given energy to fuck off with his tail between his legs. This act was unacceptable to a being like frieza.
When it comes down to it yes he didn't kill Frieza and I understand bardock feelings towards it all but I understand Goku as well Frieza did destroy civilizations but he didn't wanna be a hypocrite and kill someone if u remember Goku spared all his opponents
If vegeta realised that saiyans were just ruthless beings that wanted power it’s no wonder that he 1 won’t wish his race back with the dragon balls and two said that the extinction of the saiyans began wayyy before frieza took charge how and why would bardock want to avenge the saiyans that ignored and laughed at him while frieza was planning stuff and even when they saw frieza about to destroy the planet they didn’t help bardock which was actually doing something like if the entire race went into great apes and all at ones shot at frieza he would’ve died before he even got a chance to transform

Goku didn’t take pity on Frieza. Goku usually spares very strong opponents and only kills people who are a threat. As when Frieza attacked him again after he spared him. He had no problem blasting him to jersey

Goku is a lot like Batman, he spares the lives of the most destructive villains, so they can come back and wreak more havoc so he can fight them again.
This argument that Goku thinks Frieza can be saved is a tired one. Since the tournament of power I am willing to bet Frieza has killed countless millions across the universe 7 landscape. Not to mention that Frieza has learned to not be complacent in his power and to push for greater heights just like the Saiyans. The only difference is that his species is capable of limitless increases in power in a rapid way. He already achieved a new form by coming across a place like the hyperbolic time chamber. Goku has created an unstoppable force simply because he refused to put an end to Frieza in this timeline. The bottom line is, Frieza will always have loyal subjects that will continue to attempt to revive him every time he is destroyed. If not him, then certainly the stupidity of Goku and whis will revive him continuously. It will be a neverending cycle which is why nothing new can come from this series.
