Over here on the Navajo Nation, the most played and listened to genres of music are Black Metal, Heavy Metal, Country and Blues. All other genres are listened to as well but not as big as those 4. 😁
Seeing your comment here gave me goosebumps...been lovin' your channel for a long while now, Doc. Now I'm gonna raise a glass of Absinthe to your name.
This album has resonated so much with me. I'm a quebecois and a lot of my ancestors are huron and algonquin. We share a history of oppression and pain. I hope one day we can unite together and become closer. Our country is so full of pain and adversity. This music makes me feel this connection to our land. My family has been here for hundreds, thousands of years. I hope we can grow together for a stronger land. PLEASE COME TO OTTAWA!!!!!
@@heroesytumbas read a history book. Quite a bit of Black Metal has always been about opposing Christianity smothering and erasing native culture whether it’s in Scandinavia or North America.
@@jackdunc that mostly originated with Burzum and that garbage lords of chaos book, and Vikernes later renegated about the genre. There's the whole demonic iconography, etc, but it's not about playing victim. Maybe YOU read an actual history book. "Native" americans were all about killing, graping, and slaving each other. And btw, there's evidence they wiped out a settlement of norse farmers that arrived to North America before Colombus, if you want to talk about nordic people being erased... Wtf are they exactly complaining about? That they can't still live like that and starve in the winter with no rights, electricity, modern medicine, internet, etc? And pretending now they're this cultural monolith they never were? Don't make me laugh. The truth is they receive privileged treatment by the government just for existing an to keep them voting for socialist bs. See what people conquered by China or Islam got compared to the West to get some perspective on your government sponsored victimhood. Don't ruin metal with your hollywood backed crybaby crap. I like Blackbraid but this "this speaks to me as a victim" crap in the comments is pure cringe, do you have an actual personality trait that doesn't revolve around seeking pity from others?
Like I said .... Metalhead since the mid 90s , The River of Time flows through Me is the greatest song I've heard over at least the past 10 years ! Well done guys !
The perfect black metal band does not ex... Wait. That was an entrance gave me goosebumps!!!! I love how the native culture is incorporated not used as a gimmick. Native pride!! \,,/
Saw them live with dark funeral and honestly they were my favorite performance the energy and the atmosphere was great you don’t normally get that atmosphere when you’re the opening band 🔥
Very good Job, imfluences are clear but still no copying or etc. Still included own original style and upcoming visions from deep souls within nature themes, For The fans who like Nordic Black Metal and athmospheric Era. Best BM For Sure From North America ❤🤘
Freakin' HEAVY, ,ALEX JOHNSON, drummer of PARALYSIS: PATRONS OF THE DARK...1992, ..NEW ORLEANS looking for yall to come, Choctaw blood in my views, it runs thru ,and thru!!!
I don't entirely disagree that there's a lot of melodeath in this song in particular. 1st half of the song vocals are death growl as well. Second half he switches to BM screams. But there's plenty tremolo riffing and blast beats too. So, a nice mix of genres imo
i love norwegian black metal and have been listening to it since i discovered mayhem and bathory and hellhammer and emperor around the same time in 2008 so the fact that a member of the american mohawk tribe is a black metal musician and has created this very unique sound and has indigenous elements like flutes and acoustic guitar yeah this music is going to sell like hotcakes i recommend getting both really since they were recorded within a year of each other one is like 30+ min and the second one is over a full length so thats nice really nice
