Great video. I bought one when they first came òut, mine is green canvas. I feel the same way you do. I received a different sheath than you did. Mine is the first style pouch type and I hate it. I would a like more traditional style like you describe. I would even settle for one like you received. The one thing I hate about the knife is mine is engraved "First Production Run" on the blade. It was not shown in the DHL photos. I should have sent it back but thought I would get used to it but it's the first thing I notice when I take it out of the box.

Absolutely the Bark River and the LT Wright knives are both amazing. I have stayed with the Micarta scales also. Saw a lava flow G10 version of handle which was gorgeous but put it out of my price range unfortunately. Those are some great looking knives there. The wilderness explorer needs a custom Kydex sheath that will get you everything you want in a sheath. They sell kydex as an option but not as good as getting a custom one. Love the trip into Bark River fixed blade land.

How does it stand up to corrosion

Micarta is lighter weight than G10 and holds up just as well, and I find it has better traction than G10 when wet. BRK wood handles are exquisite, but I hate having to use them hard.

I agree that Wilderness is something special. I have the first production and the sheath that was supplied was even worse, a giant leather pouch that hides the beautiful handle. I don't like the new sheath much either. A great knife deserves a great sheath I'm going to have one made. Nice review.

Some people complained about the previous style sheaths....now they complain about the new style....whatta you gotta do to make people happy, eh? (Maybe offer both and let the customer decide? - sure to drive up the costs, though!)

Micarta,G-10,carbon fiber are all tough as hell materials for a knife's grip wood....well like a firearm with fine wood and fine bluing is for looks and not real use unless you like going bonkers trying to keep up with it.

I bought one when they first came out. I'm with you on the sheath although the new style like you have in this video is nicer than the one I got with mine. The one that came with mine is a leather pouch style with no retention strap and it flops around. I think I might have a Randall type sheath custom made for it.

I only own 2 BRK but man I love them both! I noticed the same about the weight on them and I was told since the handle and blade is hand ground “free hand” the weight could slightly very but not by much. Now that’s just what someone told me how true it is we’ll IDK? But man I sure do “LuvThemKnives!”

Don't be afraid of stabilized wood. Way, way tougher than un stabilized! Not that the micarta is not because that red is very hansom on that awesome knife! Love it!!

Haha nice LTK. Two of my knife loves - Twosuns for folders and Bark Rivers for fixed blades. Very cool to see you reviewing one, they are all sexy. Careful though, you may find yourself getting a little addicted to them, become a fixed blade channel

Hell of a turkey slicer right there. A bit fancy to ever leave the kitchen, certainly capable though.
