This was the first and only NES game featured a Terrytoon character which had his own cartoon show back in the 1950's where they ran the early Terrytoons from the 1930's and early 1940's in black & white.
The music for the high score screen is a slightly different arrangement of the name entry music from the arcade versions of Duck Hunt and Hogan's Alley.

While the same ending plays out (I think, never played much of the game personally), the difference is depending on how well (or fast) you perform from start to finish; the main character you play as (Samus) will remove either their helmet or their whole armor suit, showing the character to be female, this may have surprised a lot of players as at the time; they would assume the character to be male.
You can also do that in the NES/FC-to-Arcade (Vs. System) version during a bonus round where the dog shows up, shooting the dog will end your bonus round.
I don't get it, why are half the zapper games carnival based? I've only seen two games that didn't take place in a carnival, Duck Hunt and Wild Gunman. Any others?

The copyright year applies to when the game was made, not so much when it was released. For example the Famicom/NES version on Donkey Kong says 1981, but the game was released in 1983, and Alex Kidd Tenkuu Majou for the Sega Mega Drive says 1988 on the title, cartridge, and packaging, despite the game being released in February of '89.
Imagine paying $50 in 1990 for this game when it was new. It’s a nice half hour diversion but I’m sad for the kids who chose one game and they got this.
