That was a great idea with the lights. I love it! I'm currently getting inspo for a buffet that I will make into a bar. I will get you on FB or Instagram and drop a photo. Maybe you could give me some ideas? or ur followers also!! So glad I found you!!
Great job! I'm not sure how your channel came across my feed, but I'm glad it did. I'm working on a project - small cabinet and was thinking of making it a bar as well, my project is too small for the fancy lights but what a great idea! And the chalkboard doors are perfect for signature drink recipes. I think this is the best upcycle I've seen, for sure the most creative. Subscribed!
Aww. I’m happy to hear that ❤️ and that’s extremely smart with the drink recipes. I was only thinking about cute little slogans. I want to do a bookcase bar in the future as well and a bar cart. I honestly don’t even really drink myself but I know a ton of people who do who need some bars in their life lol.
Here is the link to the wood (MDF) panel: www.homedepot.com/p/Weathered-Grey-Plank-32-sq-ft-MDF-Paneling-169779/302944333 And I believe I sanded it with 120 or 220. I'm leaning toward 220. I honestly don't remember now. Wish I would have noted that, but it wasn't stronger or lighter than one of those two.
@@sweet84732 it is but we actually replaced this one with the Bosch recently and it's just as good. Honestly, any decent sander will work. I would have replaced it with another Dewalt, but we couldn't find it in the store at the time, and I didn't feel like waiting to order one.
For the life of me I couldn’t find them either so I ended up using these ceiling plates and putting a hole in them. www.homedepot.com/p/Commercial-Electric-5-in-Round-Blank-Metal-Flat-Cover-White-Textured-PMTW-RB/300716577?source=shoppingads&locale=en-US&mtc=Shopping-B-F_D27E-G-D27E-27_4_WIRE-NA-NA-Feed-LIA-NA-NA-WIRE_OG2021&cm_mmc=Shopping-B-F_D27E-G-D27E-27_4_WIRE-NA-NA-Feed-LIA-NA-NA-WIRE_OG2021-71700000080343946-58700006748620836-92700061189583327&gclid=CjwKCAiAp4KCBhB6EiwAxRxbpCID-aS5wElUnLeMm4ZOOJrk3XsXMuiLaQemIWYrg_Dw4JEFws0nzhoCz6oQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
Thank you so much! I would love to see how yours turns out. We used these cord fasteners that you screw down into the wood. You can get them from Home Depot. I’m going to try to find them and share.
Thanks for watching! The exterior top of the armoire comes off and there sort of a hidden compartment in there. That’s where we ended up putting the wiring, except for the cord for the plug. We drilled a hole out of the back of that compartment to feed the plug through. Hopefully I explained that right.
Thanks! No it’s not wood. It’s MDF. I was trying to find something lighter in weight and easier to replace the backing with because it was already so heavy.
I was curious how you threaded the plug through the ceiling plate when it had a socket on one end and a plug on the other? Did you have to cut the cord and strip the outer coating which you reattached or am I making it too complicated?
You’re correct. That’s what happened. The second option was cutting a slit in the plates. Sliding the cord in and then patching and painting the opening.
