What a brilliant experience sending my CLK55 to SPR Autos. Sam is a straight talking man, who just does what he says!! Any issues, email or phone call. She (the CLK55) is neally back in my hands after all this essential work to bring her back to the road. Big smiles on my face. A bit of bodywork when i get her home and she will be as close to a brand new 21 year old CLK55!! As you can get!!!!! What a brilliant experience sending my CLK55 to SPR Autos. Glad I found this channel, I have a 2003 CLK 55 AMG (here in USA) I got for $4,000 in great shape; best money I ever spent! The M113 is quite reliable, easy to work on, and puts a smile on my face every time I floor it. On these cars basic preventative maintenance, a good local mechanic, and being able to do some work yourself as I did the plugs, valve covers, gasket seals, etc. are important. Great video!

Recently done this fix to my 2005 CLK 3.2. The pump in the Sender unit is made by Wabco and should have a part no. on. I managed to find a new one in Lithuania for £36 including shipping. Took me about 35 minutes to swap out. So a cheap and easy fix! Car started first turn of the key!

Great vid which I have enjoyed watching. I came to this straight from the CL500 vid. I have always loved the look of the CLs but always considered them too complicated. However, I do have a 2002 CLK320, which has just clicked over into the 64K miles. It is about as modern and complicated as I want to go. I call it my 'inter city' car and these days rarely do more than 1500 miles in it. Every year when It comes out of winter storage I always have the oil and filter changed and always have something else done at the same time. During my 5 yrs of ownership I've had the spark plugs changed, aux drive belt, brake fluid, coolant changed, and the gear box fluid & filter done at least twice. Going back through it's MOT history, the only things it has ever failed on have been lamps and tyres. Latest MOT was a pass but a couple of advisories I'll be having looked at. Roll bar linkage pins or bushes. I sometimes wish that I had looked a little harder for a 500, but I'm happy with this one. My 'other' car is a slightly different kettle of fish. A 1973 Citroen SM, fitted with a Merak SS 3l engine, recently imported form Sweden.

You mastered this! :D My fuel filter(Mahle), MAF Sensor and Tube(Bosch), the two seals that go to Intake Air Box and Intake Manifold, and my "Dipstick" just came in today and I can't wait to see how she does without the p0172 and p0175(Bank 1 and 2 too rich) codes finally! Living in the middle of nowhere makes getting parts a bit of a waiting game but this car deserves the much needed attention after being repo'd and passed off from dealer to auction house to dealer to dealer and someone has not been kind to her... turns out, the headlight washer pump caught fire at some point because the cover is missing and water/dirt/grime got all over it and the random car dealer/or auction house must've just put the fire out and left it. It melted the whole reservoir and wires although shockingly, the windshield washer fluid pump that sits right beside the headlight washer pump is weak and was overheated it looks like but still works! That's the worst of this incredible machine mechanically though! For 181k MILES, this 2005 CLK 55 AMG Avantgarde still drives like new and doesn't miss a beat. I'm actually having trouble finding a more perfect car for the someone who lives alone or doesn't need the extra seating/weight. Reliable, Dependable, Durable, Fast, Looks great, Handles great, Luxurious, Comfortable, etc, you could go on and on... It's a shame how rare these are, I recommend you get yours now while they are still cheap. These CLK AMG's are going to skyrocket in value eventually, they have everything one could ask for. It's like a bigger, more luxurious Miata with a V8 and a back seat!

Excellent work, I'm not a mechanic but I think that the suspension arms should be tightened in the 'working position', that is, if the car is on the lift, place a jack underneath to put pressure on the suspension and only then tighten it, that way they will be in place straight away. effort when lowering the car, another detail was to have done this before installing the new brake, but once again Excellent work, looking forward to part 2 and they gained 1 more subscriber! The suspension arms should be torqued up when the car is sitting on the ground otherwise the rubber bush is twisted when at normal ride height and will wear out prematurely. You can also take the banjo bolt off the right hand side of the gearbox attach a tube to it and run the car for short periods allowing a liter or so of old fluid to pump out and top it up, Repeat until new red fluid arrives, that way the whole gearbox, TC and cooler are changed.

Great video, great car. The long cranking could be something to do with a one way valve in the fuel system not working/not there? I know some cars have it built into the pump so the system is kept basically fully primed all the time although not necessarily at full pressure,, with the short topup prime prior to starting being just that. Try the ignition on/off/on/off a load of times, like 10+, and see if it still takes as long to crank/changes at all.
