Hi, Robert! I miss so much about Finn's death!!! He was a special owl, a very dedicated and brave dad, that fulfilled his mission with honor!!! Thank you for your help, increasing the food for the poor chicks!! You are a very great stepfather!!!👏 Rest in peace dear Finn, we will miss you!!! 🦉😔🙏
Man im so sorry for the loss I watched full video how he stayed at gylfie's side when she was incubating, he was awesome father, probably best father of all barn owls we know in ash wood. I couldnt go and think about sadness in gylfie, losing such devoted and caring mate. Im happy she found new mate, i hope ginn's stepbrother dryer will be good mate and father just as finn was
Finn was my favorite owl out of the bunch. Not only was he younger than some of the others, but he was devoted mate and father to Gylfie and his young. So, knowing he won't be around anymore kind of stings. Still, I'm glad Gylfie and the others are safe. Rest in Peace Finn!
Thanks to Jean Thorpe and Robert, Finn got 4 years of life and left a legacy in the chicks he bred. But his loss still hurts. RIP, Finn. Every time I go to bed, as I climb the stairs, I see a picture of a barn owl painted by Robert which was my retirement present from the Physics dept. I couldn't have wished for anything better.
Part of following this great channel is getting such terrible news. Finn was an absolutely fantastic owl mate and dad. He gave us all such joy and will live on in his descendants and in our hearts. Thank you yet again, Robert. I am happy to have a spot in my heart where Finn will always be flying free.
I cried again today watching this video it brought it all back to that awful day we were told Finn had drowned.. I can't believe how attached I get watching these birds on my TV screen. I miss Finn, Willow, Mrs Kes, Mr Kez and their wonderful offspring Jeff 😢
@@AshXXMayftw Willow and Mr. Kes went missing without a trace, so they're probably dead, while Mrs. Kes could've died of injuries she sustained after many fights with other birds.
Finn's story had to be told. So beautiful to see the brood grow and thrive. Thank you for being the conservator and documentarian you are. Your films and resident critters bring so much joy and hope.
That's one thing I love about this channel. Not only do you get education on wildlife EVERYwhere now.... you get involved in their lives inbthe wild! Thank you Robert for all your hard work & dedication 👏 Bravo!!! 🫠😃😄❤️✨️💖💕
That shot at 8:05 brings tears to my eyes. Somebody a couple months ago showed me a picture of Finn feeding one of the Tawny fledglings on the maze wall! I didn't start coming here until this spring after he was already gone, but when they showed me that photo I could see why he was so loved by everybody. Such a sweet and special owl. 😪
Nature has you know has the unique, the amazing, but sometimes the worst too😢. I know is difficult to not get emotions for this animals( and you more, you take care of then, help then , you see this grow up, raising famaly, etc, etc ) ,but we have to not attach very much to then like a invisible barrier, to when this happend we not go dow😢, i know its hard ,,,its hard for me and i m a Simple viewer ( i spend many hours in different species around the World and when bad things happen it broke my heart😢) . But like you know its nature/wildlife when all can hapend. Keep going your amazing work ,Robert 💪💪. The nature , the World, millions of persons enjoy your dedication ❤. Regards from Portugal 🇵🇹🇵🇹🇵🇹
😢Gosh.. got hit so hard in the feels when you showed his fate.. to be honest, wasn't expecting that you would do so o-o poor Finn :( seeing how green he had turned because of how long he was there, and how small he looked when you held him in your hands🕯Rest his sweet soul.
Well, I knew from the title it was gonna be sad. 😮💨 I thought it was going to be the youngest chick not making it, but no... 😭 My condolences to you, Robert. This must've really hurt.🥰🤗 Thank you for helping Gylfie feed up her babies, in Finn's honor. See you next time. 😁😘💖👍👍👋
I'm devastated. I've followed Finn from his start on your channel. He was so precious and to lose him in such a senseless way. I know it breaks your heart more than ours. Sending love your way.
Oh this was heartbreaking to watch. 😢Poor Finn and poor you for finding him like that, Robert, so sad. I'm glad he had a few good years and was able to pass on his genes, he was such a beautiful barn owl! Hope his line continues on for a long time...🌟
Fern soon made up for that size difference, she's an absolute unit now. Loosing Finn was devastating to the community, Last season in general was terrible in the regard that we lost so many friends.
What a tragedy for Finn but you managed to find his body, we were not left wondering about his disappearance. He had a good life and got some owlets to adulthood. His legacy lives on.
RIP Finn 😢 You do such a great job of caring for all these animals and those water troughs must’ve saved so many lives. It’s incredibly sad about Finn but glad that new generations of owls including his children will grow up strong and healthy. It’s always heartbreaking losing a wild animal you have a particular bond with, especially because it’s hard to find out what happened sometimes, and it’s an unpredictable world out there. I’m glad Finn was found in the end. Thank you for all you do for all the animals! ❤
Finn,in trajik hikayesi maalesef üzücü,umarım,yerine yetiştirdiği geride bıraktığı ailesi onun boşluğunu dolduracaktır.peçeli baykuşlarla yakinen ilgilenen emeği geçen Robert E Fuller ve ekibine teşekkürler.
Oh Finn. He was such a wonderful mate. So dutiful and loving. Whenever he found other nests and eggs he would just seem interested and tap the eggs. Leaving after that. Not wanting to bother the nest. I will miss him so much.
Never expected an owl to die by drowning…. tragic. I know Monty Don from Gardener’s World always mentions the importance of including a step or way out, for any garden pond, to prevent tragedies like this one. These wee owlets were so fortunate to have excellent parents, and humans available to help in the food procurement.
Dang it! There I was having a relatively happy day & now my eyes are leaking! Finn was indeed a "special owl". I admire all the Barn owl parents, but he had real personality & character above & beyond the others - I still miss him in the feed ...😇😢
It just makes me smile & warms my heart what good parents Gylfie & Finn are. After loving on the oldest, she nestles in & looks like she smiles at the camera. She so beautiful ❤❤❤❤❤
What a shame for Finn and you Robert. A few years ago I came across a young Australian Kestral drowning in a trough. I rescued him, let him dry off, kept him quiet and warm, fed him a few grubs and released him to a waiting parent. We win some and loose some.
So much tenderness and beauty as well as hardship, struggle and sometimes tragedy. Finn was such a committed provider. Rest now, dear laddie. You worked so hard and tirelessly. I will miss you. 😔
I remember when I heard the news about Finn, I was so devastated. I have watched the streams, and you can see how Finn is very attentive and tender for Gylfie. We have lost a lot of favorite birds in the past year, and Finn was one of them. Fortunately, the 3 chicks grew up to be strong and healthy, and Finn's legacy lives through them
Robert, We all should be grateful for your contributions in trying to maintain a natural area for the Barn Owls. As you look ahead, just remain focused on your scientific records and videos in helping educate the public, who follow your postings.
So sad made me cry again, Finn was my favourite special owl. I have lots of pot owls in my garden. I now have a very large pot owl 🦉 called Finn RIP Finn xx
Poor Finn. We had a possum do the same thing in our garage a few weeks ago. Climbed into a 5 gallon bucket of water for my dog and couldn’t get out. I felt horrible about it. 😢 RIP Finn. Fly high
Thank you Robert for your wonderful videos showing both success and occasional sadness. I simply can’t get enough of them.👍🏾👍🏾 Best regards from Victoria Canada.
Poor Finn he was so amazing it must of been so devastating for you to see finn in the water 😢when I see griffin I see finn again thank you for you love and dedication
Thanks for this beautiful but tragic video ! A video to remeber Finn with (and of course nice to see his families too) ! Thanks @RobertEFuller for all you do !
Does Finn have a little grave? I know when the birds go missing and pass on we don't normally know what happened to them, let alone have a body. This is a special circumstance for a very special owl.
@@RobertEFuller I would suggest giving him a proper burial or a tree pod burial. Not sure if the latter is legal in the UK, but it'll be a great way to honor his memory.
Barely 4 years old. So short. Tragic circumstances. Finn didn't deserve this 😢. Finn would be proud of Gylfie raising the brood herself, with great help from REF. RIP little fella.
Absolutely heartbreaking. Finn was such a stunning owl and mate. He will be greatly missed. Thank you sir for all you do to help these feathered friends during tough times. I have great admiration for the work you do with wildlife. My condolences 💔
