Started and ran like a Ford flathead V8. Those were amazing engines and that one proves they can even sit for a good while. I hope someone picks it up and enjoys it., jack
Heck of a save fellas !!!!! Great job and very entertaining video to see the progress and drive to the gas station. The motor counts good for sitting 30+ years.
Thought wrong. Was sure this had Matt keeper. Rust, quad color patina (red, black, white, rust). No trunck and driver/passenger floor. Usual upholstery issues. Started and ran easily. Alot of Steve, a lil of Matt. Brakes, battery, gas, camera, action. The smile on the first unexpected start. Coupled with the drive in town gas fill-up satisfaction. It is what it is. Good luck passing this one on.
It is a great day when work and fun can come together for a change. Moon helped with the test drive, so he should have gotten to come along for the street run!
How flippin' cool is that? RIGHT? 😮 😎👍Sure was a fun ride along 😆Steve was getting pelted in the back seat, HA HAA! 😅😂 He sure could have used a face shield and a covid mask back there! Ha!😅 Great show, Matt, Steve & Mike! Thanks for the laughs and fun. 👍
The Motley Crew out for a little drive in to town from the shop. The town is checking everything out. Definitely! Matt you must personally the police chief and crew. Great little car just a little rough around the edges.
What a cool old car. Would be an awesome summertime daily. Just get the seats upholstered , rewire it and drive it. Amazing how close some of these cars are when the projects lose steam. I just recently got a 56 Chevy with a similar story, the original owner took it apart to restore it and it didn’t get put back together. Great episode and thanks for sharing the shenanigans with us.
Only just found your channel and subbed . Fantastic. Thank you for saving that wonderful old flathead . I am in the UK but I just love those old American V8s . Over here I drive an old V6 Granada. I love it and love all the attention it gets . Great channel . I look forward to watching more of your great content . Have a great Christmas guys .
Well Matt it may have been a couple of years since I have watched one of your videos I was so happy to see moon going so well though he looks a bit bigger Maybe too many treats from the mail ins He is looking happy Good to see you doing so well 👍👍🇦🇺
you guys are having way too much fun. lmao. poor steve, lol. great save. this thing looks ruff but holy crrap, very cool to see it going down the road.
Back in 1971 my brother bought a 39 😂Ford deluxe coupe it had a Oldsmobile rocket 88 engine I think it was kind of the precursor to the 327. it wasn't really big but it wasn't small anyway it had three deuces on top and a 3-speed b&m behind. What a hot rod.
Afternoon Matt & Steve! Y'all really lucked out on this car, don't know what your plans are, but it would be nice to put the car back together as is....then put it up for sale!! Y'all be safe!!!
Was that not the best looking car on the road when they drove through town? The wsw tires add a nice touch. BTW - I've never had a worn out, dried up throw out bearing quiet down. Once they start announcing their presence, the clock is ticking.
Brush on some Farmall red, make a Carson top outta army surplus tents, and she's ready for a Sunday shit-n-show! I prefer to drive em over polishin' em anyway.
Put Berrymans fuel cleaner in the tank when you do this! It’s the best fuel cleaner I have found back in the 1970’s! If the tank is really dirty take the gas tank out clean it with a pressure washer and then fill it with miuitc Acid and leave it for a week in there! If still dirty do it till it’s clean! If it never cleans then buy a new gs tank and clean and blow out all the fuel lines with air compressor and reinstall and you shouldn’t have anymore problems!
I can just imagine the neighbors. What has Matt brought home this time? What old car is that? He will never get it running. Next day Matt and crew are cruising the town causing lots of head turning. (Poor bus driver. Not only sees the car coming but half the kids in the bus say "What was that?" Driver doesn't know either.) Did you do an oil change? Keep up the good work and the smiles. 😀
Marvel mystery oil in fuel helps lubricant everything... hopefully you use in these engines Plus in oil before change. Delo 30 or Valvoline 30 great oil to use
