I love it. It's the way I want mine. I always think there should be an entry way not just open into the living area. It looks and feels so much better with a transition.
Love the sleek and modern look of this interior! Usually not a fan of the tall fireplace but the concrete is so nice! Also Brandy looks great! I love her look in this video and enjoy her descriptions and practical ideas.
It’s actually very economic to heat and cool - well insulated- AC works great - utility bills are between $250-$150 per month total for the last 9 months.
72-74 with AC on - total utilities (electric - HVAC & all appliances) are $250 max (summer & winter) $150 (spring & fall) Very well insulated Also we have Minka fans in every room (see video) very quiet and efficient - really quiet 84” in living room 64” in master 52” in bedrooms/office @texasbestconstruction
@kathrynquinn3606 hmm.. thank you for the reply. I've been hearing people talk about an all black metal building being made in florida, and many people respond with like, " No way, it will be 30% higher in cost or more. " it is good to hear someone who experienced it. Do you happen to know what insulation you did / thickness amounts / r values
I don’t but Josh talks about this in other videos on his channel. Scroll through his channel for videos on this specific topic from the last year-he explains in depth
I'm not sold on all the black.. especially in Texas. Cooling costs in that big space with a heat-soaking exterior would be interesting to see. Also not crazy about the fireplace (looks like they stuck small stones in clay and called it a day.. and see-through into master bedroom?), lack of cabinets, walls desparate for some color. But I'm being overly critical. I'm sure anyone could pick apart choices I'd make, too. I suppose we all have different tastes. Nice property.
@@kathrynquinn3606Wow, I suppose if it'd be affordable anywhere, it'd be Texas! Probably couldn't cool a 600ft² apartment in California for that lol (assuming they still let you own AC over there..)
Love all y’all’s work. Anyway to do quick no voice walk throughs. And then have your deep dive walk through for when we have time to watch the detailed videos. Thanks.
@@kathrynquinn3606 We are so thrilled for you guys and your beautiful place. Please don’t ever hesitate to reach out! We loved the honey 🍯 from the bee farm as well!
A "Blue Star" gas range with a blue finish and gold trim would have been great for this barndominium. Beautiful build and floor plan. Stay Awesome! < fist pump >
I love that this one has an entryway that’s a Must for me. I just wish the kitchen was bigger or maybe used the patio space behind the sink to extend the kitchen. Also I would want a formal living space/dining off the entryway. I would sacrifice the wrap around patio for additional living space. Maybe around 3,500 to 4,000sqft.
I like modern/contemporary designs. Luv the huge accordion glass doors. I’m assuming accordion since you said open all the way up ! Very clean design. I’d change a few things but very very nice 👍
They are Two sets of WinDor 16’ sliders with screens - mandatory in North Texas - no accordion doors - no panoramic - no screens- North Texas is not Florida or California - got to keep the bugs, spiders and scorpions 🦂 out!
Yes, but well insulated…total utilities (electric) run about $250 a month in the summer and winter, $150.00 in the spring and fall. Thank you we love it! ❤
I want the island brought out some more closer to the sliding doors and add a wine cooler underneath it. and i want another smaller one put in the middle that got an indoor grill on it.
@@TexasBestBarndominium that it does. Love the big back porch. But over all a bit more than my pocket book will allow. lol. But we always try to steal an idea or two to see if we can incorporate it into what we are wanting to build.
Love the Black metal. The heat it will absorb and keep the building hot In the summer and stand out in the winter . Plus never shows dust and dirt Well unless there’s a breeze etc.
Could you talk about the size of the rooms as you walk through them? I am looking to build and your reviews are really help me visualize things. Thank you
The Master bedroom is appx 21’ x 14’ and the office and guest bedrooms are appx 14’ by 12’ - TBC pinned the plans above in the comments - its the luxury rustic 4-bedroom plan - we wanted the bedrooms off of hallways - not main living
No sorry we don’t share our clients private information. Also pricing is different now than when we priced this project so it’s irrelevant to today’s cost. The link is our current best way to help you gain insight into cost at this time. Currently we only work in the DFW surrounding market in Texas.
@@ArmyMedicRN but no.. 🤷♂️ this house is not for sale and if you were looking to get it built, you can certainly do that, but it would be the pricing in the link not what somebody else paid for it when it was first priced over a year and a half ago. Also, we have been posting videos on RU-vid for five years and a lot of these are timeless and if we had been sharing prices back before 2020 it would be completely pointless and false information for people to watch now. We have a reason why we don’t throw prices arbitrarily out on videos. While I know what people want it’s just not feasible for our current set up to just throw numbers around. But for anybody that wants to get a price on what this would cost, they could certainly take all the information and then put it into the link at any given time and get real time cost which is much more important information. 👍
Did i miss seeing a bathtub, I the pantry, and washing machine area, and master bd closet. The kitchen is growing on me, but no microwave and dishwasher for me. Not cool on the black theme color. Whenever I sell my place, I think I invest a bardo
Electrician here Pendants on a sloped ceiling ain’t fun at all. Easy tip You can actually take the light apart to make the wire shorter and then put it back together. The chain is easy to remove a link from. Someone put that light together, which means you can take it apart. Although some are cheap and can’t really be taken apart without busting a weld or 2.
@@TexasBestBarndominium lol I reread my comment and see where it might hard to understand. the bottom of the fixture that is separate from the mounting bracket. Most of the time it’s just some hollow all thread that the wire goes through and is soldered or terminated to light bulb socket. Shorten the lightbulb socket end, not the mounting bracket end.
I have a couple friends who are interested in having an all metal building in florida / texas, and they want to do all black. I am really curious how horrible of an idea it would be to have it be all black, though. Is it a very bad idea, or is it not too bad of an idea / just a small difference efficiency / cost wise?
72-74 with AC on - total utilities (electric - HVAC & all appliances) are $250 max (summer & winter) $150 (spring & fall) Very well insulated Also we have Minka fans in every room (see video) very quiet and efficient - really quiet 84” in living room 64” in master 52” in bedrooms/office @texasbestconstruction
How much is something like this !!!! I would love to buy one but need a ballpark figure. Planning on putting a barndominium on 12 Acres in Texas . 1 hour away from Houston!!
I never want a window in my bathroom. Largest vanity I've ever seen but it only has one sink, how does that make since? That is entirely too much blue.
We need HELP! My wife and I are absolutely struggling to find a way to do this because we can’t seem to find anyone who has actually done it. We live in the Houston area but we’re looking to move northeast. Any help would be greatly appreciated because even though I make nearly 6 figures it’s still seems to not be enough.
