SOVL is a tabletop fantasy combat game with roguelike elements. You pick your faction and lord, select some early units and go on an adventure on a Slay the spireish map. So if you like warhammer tabletop games, this game is perfect for you. I've been having a great time with the game and it's FREE!

So two notes on campaign management: resting spots are not(!) equal to fights, because you get no gold, which is the most important thing, other than experience. Battles get you more gold, and gold translates to extra units. Elite fights are therefore worth it, if they'd let you get another unit by the next upgrade shop :)

The game is really good. Especially for a free one. Unfortunately, it makes me salivate at the possibilities. I just want the dev to add modding and I feel like the community will do the rest. Would also like to see a more traditional campaign where you're fighting over a world map. Like Total War, but not shitty.

Its horribly unbalanced and the UI is so far beyond godawful i wouldnt wish it on an enemy.

The undead nations really need an update. They have maybe two good units, the rest is trash compared to other factions.

This game looks interesting. Very reminiscent of the old White Dwarf battle reports for WH: Fantasy. Which has probably been said a lot. 😁

attacking vs a higher skill enemy is still a 4+. Higher skill benefits only attack, not defense.

I wish replenishment for undead was based on number of kills (maybe as an option instead of gold).

I wish there was a fall back mechanic or an option to flee after a combat even if you win. There have been so many times I wish I could have a unit fall out of combat to make room for another unit to charge. Or if it's just a bad fight.
