A display of the Highland Dance 'Wilt Thou Go To The Barracks Johnny?' by students from the Jean Swanston Scottish Highland Dancers, with music by piper Bruce Hinch. This was one of the displays during the Pitlochry Highland Nights event in Pitlochry, Perthshire, Scotland, on Monday 19th July 2021.
This is a recruiting dance, from a period when a recruiting officer would go into a village with a dancer as entertainment, or to attract people to his temporary recruiting station. Some say that each regiment had its own dance, but this is the only one widely practiced.
