Barragan Lecture #1: "On Time and Experience" with Luis E. Carranza 

Luis Barragán is regarded as one of the most important Mexican architects of the twentieth century. His architectural idiom fused the austere vocabulary of the International Style with vernacular Mexican elements to produce an unmistakable expressiveness all his own. Since 2022, his archive is hosted by the Vitra Design Museum. On this occasion, the Vitra Design Museum, in cooperation with the Barragan Foundation, organises a series of lectures and discussions that examines Barragán's work from different perspectives and makes it more accessible to a broader audience. The first lecture was given by Luis E Carranza, professor of architecture at the Columbia University and the Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island, who presented Barragán in the context of Latin American modernism.
