I did learn that the #4 contour (semi-heavy) barrel is considered a sporter. Heretofore I thought the "Sporter" moniker was only applied to #2 barrel contours. You would not believe how hard it was to find clarification of this on the internet. Your video was the only resource to point it out clearly and without any ambiguity. Thanks for posting the video!
My mtu is a beast! Never freaking heats up i swear lol. Hopefully gonna try some new berger 144 in it this week. The straight contour vs tapered consistency claim would be an awesome comparison to see!
Just received my carbon 300 win Barrel today! This is my first aftermarket barrel but I can tell you guys did absolute fantastic job! This thing is goin to be beautiful on my build thank you all for your work.
Can I order a fixed shouldered barrel that has not been contoured? Like a full blank size barrel that has been finish chambered, shouldered, and crowned.
I would like to build a new 300 Winchester Magnum without a taper on a top shelf barrel with a 11degree crown and threaded for a muzzle brake. Can anyone help me find this? New to the rifle building club.
Thank you, I have been trying to find good information on this. I’m new to custom guns, just got a custom .22 LR. It’s straight 1.2” DIA, 22” long. This helps me figure out what I want for my new hunting gun. I definitely don’t like sporter barrels, POI changes too much when the barrel warms up. Like to shoot a few right before hunting season comes in. Any suggestions on a good contour? Probably don’t need a .900” but would a .800 be good but not crazy heavy @24”?
