Proper express locomotive, that nice to see it at speed on the main line, think you need to get over the accident with the crossing as accidents happen and the fact he was coming out from a junction at an angle obviously made a misjudgement and didn't see the barrier.
Also mentioned above - why are there no duplicate lights for the junction(s)? I'm sure if an incident happened, the RAIB would have something to say about their absence...
@@SouthWestCrossingsUK: Why do you think duplicate wig-wags are provided at many crossings with similar layouts, then? And have you even read any RAIB reports? Try the AOCL class investigation, 12/2011, to start off with, seeing you want to claim "You can see wig-wags from any angles"...
That said, it seems as if there aren't any duplicate lights for the junction they came out of, which isn't great - most crossings at junctions have them to aid road vehicle drivers. At least if they were there, there's less of an excuse for them going through the crossing, you then have fewer errors and are left only with the violations...
In 1992 I was at Alsager station when the barriers came down for my train. On complete idiot at first stopped and then decided to dodge around the barier that was down. The result was that the other barrier came down straignt onto his bonnet. He could not move. Other passengers were saying he'll get a lot of compensation for the damage to his car, until I put them right. This stupid driver managed to block the railway line and the road all by himself.
