Anakin was already destroying her in combat and Force power when he was still trying to use the light side of the Force. Now that he's fully embraced the dark side, he might very well kill her for taunting him like that.

I don't think she knows its him. Even Ahsoka wasn't sure until it was outright stated.

@@AdeptKing Ahsoka saw only the best in Anakin, despite his flaws, because he was the only one who did not leave her in her darkest hour, who looked out for those close to him to the end. Feelings, emotions and dedication can disrupt your sense of observation and conclusion, until a prove right before your own eyes, because it sounds like an insult to the good memory and image of the person whom you suspect. Someone whose observation skills are not disturbed can conclude Vader is Anakin, like Tarkin did thanks to how Vader fighting techniques had similarities to Anakin's, despite him now wearing an armor.

The Second Sister in Fallen Order, The Ninth Sister in Jedi Survivor, every single Inquisitor we see in Rebels, etc. I honestly do not understand this view that every inquisitor gets a redemption. That aside, it DEFINITELY makes sense for Barriss to not stay an Inquisitor. Even at her worst, she was never an evil person, just misguided.

@Goodbutevilgenius Yeah, exactly. She does not get redeemed, and is unrepentant up to and including her death.

It makes sense for them to defect. Most, if not all, inquisitors were forced to join the empire against their will. If you were conscripted to fight in an army you don't even support you'd probably want to get out the first chance you get.

He would probably dress like Sidious with an oversized cloak to hide his identity. Having Anakin (a war hero) walking around murdering people would have people asking too many questions

@@quakethedoombringer Not really. The empire justified killing every jedi without any reason or trial. And if the emperor told everyone a story about how Anakin switched sides because he "saw through the lies of the jedi", everyone would've gotten along with that. The only people who would ask too many questions are those who are already questioning the empire anyway Vader made a choice to always hide his identity after he started wearing his suit. He was always angry because he lost to Obi-Wan, it doesn't fit with his own believe of him being more important and more powerful than any jedi. This is why he made up the lie that this defeat didn't happened to Vader, but to Anakin, because Anakin was weak and then Vader killed him. And he told it so many times that even he believed it. In one of the comics we see Vader meditating and remembering the past, but his memory is wrong and includes himself fighting and killing Anakin on Mustafar.

The Episode 3 PS2 game has an alternate ending where Anakin jumps a little higher, gets the drop on Obi Wan and wins. He then returns to Sidious, who gives him a new red light saber. First thing Vader (sans suit) does with it is kill Sidious, before declaring himself the new Emperor.

The question becomes, who will be Vader's new apprentice?

Nah, at this point he was mad cause Ahsoka abandoned him, he partly blames her for what happened to him.

@@embryblake4530 Barriss is a big factor on why Ahsoka left and abandoning him. So yeah...... Barriss need to minimize contact with Vader if possible. There is no Jedi Order or laws or morality to hold his rage back this time.

Why would he? Anakin may have killed her, but Vader wouldn’t. Why would he risk potentially compromising his true identity?

Not gonna happen. Vader shows no hesitation in trying to kill Ahsoka himself years later. As far as he's concerned Anakin is dead, and Vader killed him.
