@@danieljackson8265 very true. People forget that the 90s Lions were actually a damn good team. After there win vs Dallas in either 90 or 91 they couldn't get another playoff win. I think they had 1 more home playoff game in like 93 or 94. vs Green Bay but lost. They lost 2 the Eagles and Tampa as well. The weird part is they actually made the playoffs in 99 without Sanders n lost 2 Washington. The next year they just had 2 win there last game vs the Bears in Detroit in a win or go home but the lost by 3 with a FG as time expired.

I got to watch Barry live in the 90's. He had the most yards for negative gains while still putting up unbelievable seasons and yds per carry avg. I thought Billy Sims was the greatest RB in Lions history until Barry came along. Billy was great. Injuries killed his career. But he was a worthy RB and could have gotten some records if he stayed healthy. But nobody compares to Barry. You can't compare Barry to a Jim Brown. What do you think Brown would do in today's NFL? Barry had tougher competition with a mediocre line. Well maybe a better than average line. But still, Barry performed miracles.

That Thanksgiving was pretty nondescript football wise. Lions won this game going away and then the Oilers (yes, youngins, the Titans were once the Oilers) smoked Dallas, continuing the freefall that started with their blowout loss in Green Bay. But I'll always remember it as the Thursday after graduating from United States Marine Corps basic training in San Diego. IM PRETTY SURE I WAS AT THAT GAME 🏈 🎯🎮 It was always cool walking on that Bridge to The Pontiac Silverdome... Auburn Hills was always a good venue, as well. I remember A. Houston dropping monster numbers in NYC. It's like the State of Michigan never gets enough time with their superstars. Even Primetime Football wasn't as long lived as I had hoped, being a console gamer.

I was a big Allan Houston fan his early years in Detroit. Still have the jersey around somewhere. Was disappointed when he was traded away.
