After only seeing Barry on tv for baseball related things and always seeing his attitude and the tone of voice he’d use with the sports media…..this is not only the most I’ve EVER seen him speak but I also never knew he could smile and he did that in this video as well 💯😂
Damn, thanks Barry for sharing your build. I had lost my mojo with my Wildtrak and seeing thinking and upgrades has given me inspiration. “I’m a novice at this thing” is the voice of a humble genius!
Wow. This is really cool. I'm not a big fan of Barry as a baseball player, but as a fellow Bronco owner, I respect his passion and dedication. Sweet setup, Barry!
Mendocino wilderness great place to go I take that route you drove into every couple weeks I go deep in the back country all kinds of back country camping areas, and watching this video I bought the same exact bronco raptor today same color everything, Gave up jeep for the bronco raptor because the comfort there is no driver fatigue driving one. 👍👍👍
Hey Jon congratulations on getting your new Bronco! Based on riding with Barry in his rig I can definitely say you have a nice ride and very capable offroad vehicle! I have to get back up to the Mendocino forest area soon. I skirted through the area on my Lost Coast adventure and reminded me how beautiful it is. Thanks for watching! 🙌
@@flyfisher530 Mendocino is a great spot to get in the back country especially after the first rains it becomes very pleasant there’s so many places to explore and you can head north all the way to the Yolo bolly Wilderness, We are spoiled in California so many places to go👍👍👍😆
I saw you on another video with a group camp. Cool to find your actual channel and to see a unique rig. Bonds was one of my absolute favorite players growing up. Cool that he's into overlanding. Great build.
Awesome video..... Mr. BONDS as always a very down to earth person. Awesome to see he him getting into this lifestyle. Hope to see you all on the dirt.
Phenomenal rig/build... it's almost like... "if someone could hit a ball... as well as they vision a rig build... they MIGHT be pretty good!" Great job with the filming... great job encouraging your guest to share their story!
Always great to see Barry out adventuring. I grew up in a town near him(Foster City) and i would catch his high school baseball games out in central park in San Mateo when he played for Serra high school. He hit one out of that park and it crossed El camino Real and broke a 4th story window on that building. He has always been such an incredible athlete and even nicer person once you meet him. Hope you guys are gonna be back at overland expo pnw later in beginning of July as i will be coming up from Sacramento area to attend my first expo. Tried to make Flagstaff expo but timing was just off. Next year for sure. Thanks forthe video, Mike.
Finally a Bronco Raptor overland build! I have a new Eruption Green Bronco Wiltrak, but want a Bronco Raptor. I purchased it from my boss who recently paid cash for it, put it on 37 inch GY Wranglers, put on beautiful aluminum offroad bumpers and an ARB winch, then decided he has no time to actually use it. The only mod I need are rock sliders I can use as a step to get in, because I am short lol, and they are already ordered! My plan is to trade it for the Bronco Raptor, sooner than later. Great video!
this is a great video! I was a Pirates fanatic when I was a kid. My dad and I caught Barry in the parking lot of the Astrodome after a game one night and got his autograph. How cool is it to find out he's into Broncos and overloading?!
Great video! He seems pretty down to earth and hope he has a ton of off road adventures in that beast! Just be warned Barry, off roading is an addiction, once you get the bug, you never stop modding hahahaha!
Loved the video. I'm a Bronco owner myself here in Colorado. Let me know when you make it out to Colorado...I, along with others would love to hit the trails with you.
You mentioned a friends raptor in the comments on another video. Then you start this with a casual “My Friend”. 😂😂😂 Great build, fun video. Looking at those Rock Slide engineering spare tire fuel carrier for mine too.
Good video. Nice to see Barry taking all the steps, watching all the videos and getting input to build an incredible overlanding/camping rig. Waiting on my TRMR rack through Rhino Adventure Gear (Joost & Cody) here in San Marcos, CA. Next is the iKamper 3.0 mini. Prob do the Goose Gear rear seat delete as well since my Badlands is a 2dr and I don't need 3 passengers :) . Funny - I had 13 things in my house waiting for my Bronco delivery (15 months! LOL) and spent a week or so mounting everything. Thanks for posting. BTW - been watching 395jnky and love to get some Barry Bonds special spice mix - hint, hint.
Hey mike and barry! rough country makes a hidden winch mount that hides it behind the skid plate not sure if it will work with the raptor but it only states it doesnt work for the 2.7L hope this helps!
Just a thought. When he is airing back up could he just open the two rear doors and run the hose that way? Instead of running the hose under the vehicle? That way if it is muddy or something he wouldn't have to deal with that too much. Cool Bronco for sure
You’re the best! 1st!! This is my obligatory comment to enhance your RU-vid algorithm performance. Do tell us, PLEASE, what is the total weight now? 😂❤😂❤
First off, as a san mateo native, Barry is an absolute LEGEND and will ALWAYS be the best who ever played in my eyes, so this video that combined two of my favorite topics (Barry & Broncos) was EPIC! Do you know what brackets he used to be able to install the shovel on the upper part of his PackRax system? Is that the Modular 90 bracket? i love that placement of the shovel and want to do the same thing on my bronco. :) thanks!!
Love the build! If the Raptor bumper is the same as the regular Bronco modular steel bumper, will the Warn winch from the Ford Performance catalog not fit in the center opening?
Calling himself a Novice is pretty damn modest...I'm an Overlanding Novice as I know that I don't know much (but want to learn more). BB may not be 'advanced' but he's certainly well past Beginner. Good on him for owning his project and investing the time and research as opposed to paying someone else for a turnkey project.
I love the shovel and ax mount solution! What is that other rubber strap thing that was used to secure the handles of the shovel/ax? Did you have to drill holes in the pak rax to mount the Rhino Stow It and the rubber strap thing?
Those mounts for the shovel\axe are called Quick Fist Clamps. I have them also and they work great. I don't think it was necessary to drill holes in the rack but if so it would not be too difficult. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing, see u on the trail, maybe go to trailhero, kevin and Brittany are great people to reach out too. I helped Kevin put those tires on his raptor, great choice
@@flyfisher530 great thanks. Love the content. Working on plans for a Bronco Raptor overland build myself and was wondering what direction he went if any. At this point I’m planning on the Maxlider Bronco Raptor winch bumper as it seems to be the most streamlined and tucked away solution.
Great video and walkaround! Have Barry join NorCal Raptor Runs if he’s interested in taking his Bronco Raptor offroad in a group setting. We’re a group of likeminded offroad enthusiasts who do family friendly multi-day offroad events all over the southwest. His Bronco Raptor would certainly be able to keep pace. Check out our RU-vid videos for more info!
I really like the bronco but man they are wide and the raptor even more. Offroading with something so wide just doesn't make sense from my perspective but then again I have what amounts to a CJ.
Wow! I never ran into Barry Bonds, but we both attended the Malibu Gran Fondo in October of 2011. It was awesome to hear that such a famous person was there! Awesome video, I'm watching this with Subtitles on at work (down time). I'm going to have to continue this when I get back home! Great video so far, and looking forward to seeing more. Wish you continued success with the channel! @jondz_adventuring
