I love him but that’s simply not true. He sounds good but not as good. He’s 80 and it’s to be expected.

Thanks to digital technology .. especially live. I have seen him live 70 ish times and I know that, what he sounds like now is not his natural voice. His natural voice is croaky. Infact, some celebs have been to see him live and have commented that he sounds 'suspiciously' good. They know the business.

Cher overdid it, Christie looks amazing but I think a lot of it has to do with her lifestyle. She exercises, she is a clean eater and I don't think that she smokes or drinks.

One thing that no one has control over is genetics. Some people "age more gracefully" due to the gift of their genetics. For instance, lifestyle choices such as eating well, exercising and not smoking, drinking, or sunbathing does influence how good your skin looks as one ages. However, due to a person's genetic make up, he or she may still tend to have more wrinkles and gray hair than an older person who hasn't maintained a healthy lifestyle. I believe that some celebrities who have "aged gracefully" have probably done a combination of things to remain youthful looking: healthy lifestyle, exercise, well done botox, fillers and surgeries. But that extra boost that I believe some have the benefit of (such as Christy Brinkley) to keep their youthful look is "good genes". Our genes control the aging process: weight distribution, amount of wrinkles, how much and how early graying of the hair occurs (or the loss of hair), drooping of eye lids, sagging jowls, or double chins. Yes, surgery can "correct" those things. But if those the things are only a slight effect of aging, it's much easier to stay youthful looking as that person ages.

That’s why Freddie Mercury never had his protruding teeth fixed, from what I’ve read. He was obviously self conscious about his smile, but he was said to be afraid that straightening his teeth would alter his distinctive voice.

He looks terrible. I love him and I’m a huge fan but his surgery has made him look awful.

We’ve seen him in concert too! I don’t care about his plastic surgery!! Who cares? He has the voice of an Angel. I’m 69 and have followed him his whole artistic career‼️🥰

I meant nothing about plastic surgery regarding his (still gorgeous as ever) looks….The nose is such an important part of the “instrument” that is his voice!

I never understood why people would want to erase their racial/ethnic features. Both Manilow and Streisand are Jewish and they look it. There is nothing wrong with that. It is a good thing.

Look at what “fixing” her nose did to Jennifer Grey after she did Dirty Dancing. Her acting career went downhill fast without her famous nose.

I'm sure people gave Streisand a horrible time about her nose as she was trying to succeed. You're so right about the the way the voice relies on resonance. What gives her such a pure sound is helped by her nose. BTW, in the film "Funny Girl", she almost assaults the camera when she sings, "who's an American beauty rose, with an American beauty NOSE! (Don't rain on my parade)

For sure. But you know toward the end of this video, with the more recent pictures of him, I actually think he had his nose tip raised. Not made smaller or or carved, but just the tip elevated a little so it's less droopy. Im gonna check his more recent pics, but I think the Dr might have missed this last little change.

I’ve seen him in concert 22 times. My husband has been a Local 2 stagehand since he was 17 and just retired at 65. He was working Barry’s show at United Center in Chicago and all the local crew were told by Barry’s crew, “Do not look him in the eyes, at his face or come into any contact with him at all. My husband happened to be walking out the door as Barry, his husband assistant and driver were waking in. My husband, who has worked Barry’s shows at 6 different venues in Chicago starting at “Soundstage” and up to 2019. I may be repeating myself but it was at the United Center. My husband who has seen him very up close for decades didn’t even recognize him any more. Relax, Sue.

I agree totally, some of these actors, celebrities look 👀 very strange, especially after multiple surgeries. They can spoil their looks altogether.

When too much alteration is done, they don't look "like themselves" any more. I think changes around the mouth and chin, which affects the look of one's smile, is an alteration that makes celebrities look odd. Cher is an example of that. Her teeth my be perfectly straight now, but her original, crooked teeth gave her a charming, youthful smile. She's not unrecognizable, but now her mouth and smile looks different, less of a natural beauty.
