I have loved him since early 70's and I am 82 now..and I play his cd's and sing along. Most of his love songs make me tear up because he reminds me of the love of my life and a lost love.. 💝😢
Why is the music of today so dull. When I listen to this music I hear a melody and decent words not disgusting verses. I like the Song that makes the whole world sing
I had the pleasure to meet him twice as part of his charity. He donates all the money for the meet and greet to schools in the community that he performs in. He buys new musical instruments for schools in each city. Over $10,000 of musical instruments to middle and high schools.

I was lucky to see him live twice in the U.k where I live . He is a truly wonderful performer I have loved and followed him since my teens in the 70's and now am 64 his music still thrills me! Xx
Barry is the type of singer.you cant just listen while cleaning. You have to stop and truly get in the moment with him. Some songs and music we can do house cleaning. But Barry has a magnificent appeal and so I have to actually stop and be a part of the concert. Dance, sway , sing along. Just enjoy him!!❤❤❤❤

When his voice comes out, you automatically know who that is, and everyone stops to hear him...His affects are that poignant, no matter what age, gender, genre, or what time in History, Present we are in. I guess it is Timeless I would say. Barry moves and gets to people's hearts & spirits in such a way I don't see very often. Barry's music and spirit just feels like Love & Joy to me. Barry is probably the most brilliant singer-songwriter of our times. He’s written countless songs which not only became very popular but had become part of our souls. This 22-minute medley already included most of his songs that became very famous but a lot of others have not even made the cut.
Marlene I don't disagree he's a brilliant musician all around. For people like me now in my 60s, the musician, artists, from this generation is incomparable in my opinion. But if I had to pick the most brilliant, it would be Paul McCartney! Guinness book of record's agrees. But these are great memories. Studio musician is one of my favorites that didn't do as good on charts. But he performed it so well. And to think he started by doing jingles for commercials!!! 👍🎶☮️🎹🎼

I lost a bet with my wife ( ex wife) and she chose a Barry Manilow concert as her prize. This was around 1995-96? One of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. Amazing songwriter and performer. We lost our beagle to cancer 3 days ago, I haven’t laughed or smiled since, until now. Thank you, Barry!!

@@josettemonachino4162 thank you. My phone screen saver is a pic of him. His name was Bagel. Bagel the Beagle. Lol. That was his name in the shelter and we kept it. We still have his bed and blanket in our living room and our chihuahua, they were best friends lays in it.
@@josettemonachino4162 no, I didn’t know that. That was his name in the shelter. We have a chihuahua also. Found him shivering under a car in freezing temps. Took him to the vet to see if he was chipped, he wasn’t. Took him to police station to see if anybody reported him missing. Nobody did. The cop said don’t put this on social media, there’s a dog fighting ring in our area and he said this little 5 pound chihuahua would be fed as a treat or sparring partner for one of those vicious dogs. People can be so cruel!! So we held onto him, named him Lucky. Found out a month later that a tenant moved out and left him behind. He ran out of the apt when maintenance went in to paint and turn the apt over for the next resident. He’s been with us for 3 years now. He misses his buddy Bagel, as we all do.

The older I get the more I recognize that he rates as one of the greatest songwriters in the history of time alongside Cole Porter Lerner & Lowe Irving Berlin yadda yadda yadda.
Except he didn’t write a BUNCH of the songs he performed. He was a master at choosing great songs written by others and then arranging them in ways that were all his. Not to say he couldn’t write songs because he certainly could and did. But much of what he did was written by others like “Mandy” and “I Write The Songs.” Kudos to him for giving those songwriters a shot to have songs performed by him.
@@Tbird2191 about 30-40 % of his work is by others including his biggest hits Mandy and I write the songs . I like his work but he’s not up there with a Porter or Berlin.

I love Barry Manilow so much! I have come to the conclusion that he was the greatest love of my life even though I never met him in person. He's my favorite singer and musician my Mental Health is terrible and he's really saved me many times. Let me speak about this particular video. I had two copies of the CD I loved it so much. I didn't buy it until after I saw him in person in September 2004 at Madison Square Garden in NYC. I am not musical but I have always admired musicians the most since I was a toddler and Barry Manilow ❤ is at the top of my list! After I bought the CD, I would relax after a long day at work I would relax by listening to Barry❤❤ ❤❤❤❤❤❤
His medleys never cease to amaze me. They are sheer perfection! I used to love to sing along with Barry after a long day at work and a long commute home and I would frequently sing along with Barry , often to this CD. Anyway I can't sing and have asthma but I was able to build up my breath by belting along with Barry ❤.He is definitely the greatest entertainer of his generation, as Rolling Stone stated and I would add the greatest American musician of his generation !
These songs never get tiring to listen to. Been singing along with Barry since the 70s. He's been, and will always be my fav Singer and Entertainer. I remember at one concert he sang in front of me, and all I could do is wrap my arms around this treasure of a man. I was also thrilled his photographer took pics of me and my friends, and we ended up in one of his concert books...still a highlight of my life. Thank you Barry for all the memories. ❤

Comes alive on stage. Great performer. Still remember goung to see him in the outdoor theater in the round in the South Shore of Massachusetts in college 1978. It was thrilling. I saw him in his limo after the show. Got front row tickets my ftiend s dad owned the venue. No cell phones then but the memory is forever burned into my memory. The thrill of my young life.
He ferform before in San Francisco but after the show few of us did not left right away ‘cause he is setting down on in front of the stage so we try to shake his hands but he ignored us the other one is shouting his name still did’nt say anything. I get a big disappointment and shame to our faces .!
He is the most incredibly talented singer, songwriter, arranger. I have seen him in concert too many times to count. I love all his songs, especially the ones that never made it to the radio. I've been on a Barry kick lately and they always bring me back to the time when I was totally obsessed. I still appreciate the fact that he wrote songs with a beginning, middle and end. And there is nobody better at adding modulation into a song. Thanks, Barry for all of these great years of music!

The songs sound as good today as they did when they first came out. Barry has a way of giving us permission to be honest and vulnerable. His music appeals to people of all backgrounds. For example, I have an Aunt Carol who I love and admire but who couldn't be more different than I. She loves Barry's music too! I love Barry. Prayers.

That was incredible. It’s 40 years ago today since my Mam took me to see Barry at Blenheim Palace. She passed away 5 years ago but I’m sure she’s remembering too. ‘Can’t smile without you’ Mam ♥️
His songs started affecting me greatly when I was 12 in 1979. In my teen years I left Barry for Motley Crue, Scorpions and the like, but just recently I came back to my first love, Barry. There's no one else like him and no one who writes songs like him.
I still like rock music as well as other genres. From The Cars to Ozzy Osbourne to Tom Petty to U2. And many artists in between. Barry is a great talent that I'm tuning into more and more as I inch closer and closer to 60. And all the artists that go good with him.

Watching this on New Year's Eve 2023. Having a father who played piano I've always loved piano music and about 6 years ago I said I want to see Billy Joel, Elton John and Barry Manilow live before I'm gone. Saw Billy 5 years ago, Elton twice in 6 months on his farewell tour last year. Now this makes me want to see Barry even more. Simply amazing medley. 🎉

I recall seeing this show when it came to NYC. Took a couple along who were Barry non-believers who were 'converted' by the end of it all. Having seen him at least a dozen times (last in 2019) he never disappoints. He's immensely talented and puts time and effort into his shows...which is why he is still in demand at arenas around the world in 2022

Mandy was the first song I heard from the wonderful Barry and I was surprised I could understand the lyrics (I'm Mexican and I was 13), later it was the same with "I write the songs" and many others. I'm so glad to presenced his performance in Mexico city 2 years algo. He still sings very well.
I don't normally like medley's preferring to see each song perofrmed but the fact that Barry turns this into a 20 minute plus epic means its just one long amazing song that takes you on board with its sweep.
Exactly ....... when you can do a 21+ minute, 23 song medley of songs everyone knows all the words to, and still have enough left over to fill a 90 minute show .......... you know you're a legend.
Sorry (not really) to break It to you, but the reason an artist travels down the medley stained highway, is because they are as tired of playing the same songs they wrote 40 years ago, as you should be of hearing them. Sadly you can’t get enough. No need to purchase a time machine, when you’re stuck in a time warp.
@@chrisclay4291 think of it this way, Suppers Ready by Genesis might be an epic song of its own or a medley of a family of brilliant songs they stuck together because they got tired of playing them all the way through. (Then eventually they got tired of playing Suppers Ready.) I think of this Barry medley as his Supper's Ready.

I've been a fan since the 1970's, that's close to 50 years ! Where does the time go?😁 I've went to see him live 7 times but they were fantastic times plus saw the shows when he was at Great Adventure in Jaskson, New Jersey. When I was a part time security guard and worked in shows at Great Adventure there wasn't a seat to be had and folks packed the standing area as well & everyone had a blast ! What a showman. When I was stationed at Fort Ord, CA. I was playing Manilow songs on my key board and this girl knocked on my door demanding to see Barry, she wouldn't leave till she saw every room in my apartment! So I played & sang for her. We actually became good friends. Barry brings folks together. At 70 I can still play & sing his songs. How can one man & his many talents friends, folks in his shows bring so much joy to MILLIONS all over the world...wow, a blessing indeed. Thank you Mr. Manilow for many years of joy and fun times. My mother was a BIG FAN too. I brought her and her husband to a Barry concert at the then Garden Art Center and mom jumped up like she was a teenager and yelled, "We love you Barry !" I about died laughing on the look on her 87 year old husband. My mom was cool and she taught me to sing like at 4 or 5 years old. She had a beauitful singing voice, show songs, and we did Barry songs together for fun.

I went to see Barry for the first time ever last night. I’m 45 now and I’ve been a fan for about 40 years. It’s a family thing, my dad was a fan (now sadly departed) and my mom is still a fan, she’s seen him twice, but she’s bed ridden now due to a massive stroke last year. My eldest brother is also a huge fan and has a brilliant voice not too dissimilar to Barry’s. I get a lot of ribbing from friends and colleagues as they see Barry’s fan base as much older (which I guess is fair - there weren’t too many younger than me there last night) but I loved it, Barry was brilliant and funny. The crowd were awesome, on their feet dancing the whole night. I’ll take this memory to the grave, such an emotional night for me. Love this man and his music and always will x

Been a fan since ‘75. I’ve seen him in concert 3 times: Los Angeles Amphitheater ‘93, Las Vegas ‘94, and ‘95 Amphitheater for New Years. I also saw him at a taping of the Liza Show in Dec of ‘93 at the Paramount Studio lot. There’s a video of part of that program here in You Tube. The man can seriously put on a great show! 👏🏻
Barry is the ultimate showman. Watching this medley, you can see he pours his heart and soul into what he does. I've seen Barry many, many times, and every year I think he's getting too old, he won't be any good, he just goes on stage and smashes it, again and again!!
