I'm the original owner of Little Pop's Pizza in NY, thats my Aunt and Uncle's place in Naperville. They've been killing it out there since bringing NY style pizza to the area. Glade to see Dave giving it a try! Might have to try the OG one next time 😉

So growing up in Chicago I can tell you when I was a kid in the 70s and 80s most pizzas came on a cardboard bottom in a bag. It was 90 percent tavern and thin crust pizza back then. As deep dish got more popular in the 90s and 2000s a lot of the pizza places had to switch over to the Chicago Style box to accommodate the deep dish. It got to the point where they now use the boxes for all the pizzas. There are some places that still use the old school pizza bags but not that many. I prefer the old school bags. You just rip them open and don't have a bulky box to toss out when you're done. The bag fits right in the trash can.

I live in Naperville but my family is Phily. My favorite time of year is when I go back and rent a beach house with my sisters in Jersey and get to have actually good pizza.

Al’s Pizza in Warrenville is a great spot as well. Used to be cash only (changed recently) and the towns tap next door is fun.

I’ve been waiting for this one. I honestly bet half the people in this comment section saying it’s a 6-7 at best haven’t even tried it. It’s extremely good, especially at the Lisle location where there is just about zero flop. and while I already predicted Dave probably wouldn’t give it the best review based on his taste buds, I was really pleasantly surprised with this one. He seemed to have been rushing this review a little bit tho

Try Falco’s in Chicago They make a beaded crust. I The crust is a bit more thick but the pie is thin

We love their pizza. The thick crust with grandma's sauce is amazing. The best cheesecake around also.

Proud to live in Naperville, but we don't need no NY pizza here. Tavern style in Stickney at Villa Nova since 1957 is my jam and certainly tastier than Vito and Nick's. Owner of Pops is of course a very nice person and he runs a very nice place. You go everywhere else but Villa Nova, I guess my opinions don't count. Everyone knows the rules.

Not talking about this video but In most Chicago reviews it is square cut and Dave starts with the tiny edge piece and scores it off of that which is crazy cuz it's not even the actual pizza but the New York cut, the first bite youre getting all Pizza!

As an Illinois resident, Little Poos is my favorite pizza place I’ve ever been to. You really cant give it a fair review off of a cheese pizza. They have a lot of variety, and the best Pepperoni.

Barnabys pizza. Northern chicago suburbs. The got 4.5 star reviews outa 5. You’ll never taste anything like this. Very crispy. They’re located in northbrook and Nile’s. My parents have been eating here since the 60s. Absolutely worth it

What's the difference between a Bar Pizza that gets a usual score of around the area of a 7.2 ish and The New York Slice Pizza? Different sauce? I know that like a Costco pizza or a typical County or State Fair pizza tastes a bit different than a New York Slice. I don't know if Bar pizza is closer to Fair Pizza or New York pizza.
