this owner was legit he was so calm and wasn't rushing Dave to look at everything in the restaurant and even his wife who was in a rush was very chill for how excited she was. I love that they didn't remodel this place either the vibe is just right

Dave it’s time to drop the “rule” about not being able to change scores. Pizza is a sophisticated gem that must be treated with such fluidity and flowing energy as it provides for us. If that Pizza is truly a 9.1 then you must say that. No matter when.

That old picture of his grandfather behind the bar from the 30’s, then you turn around as see that very bar. Things like that are amazing and priceless. This place has so much character

Patsy’s is such an elite name for a local pizza joint.

This is a local joint for me, and I feel very lucky to be able to drop by and enjoy one of their pies whenever I'm in the mood. Along with Pizza Town (Elmwood Park) and Bruno's (Clifton), Patsy's is yet another establishment that helps identify this region as a hot spot of pizza history and culture. I don't feel I'm exaggerating (though I'm admittedly rather biased -- but who cares) when I say this area of northern NJ really is blessed with some of the best pizza in the country.

I just called them and there's a 3 1/2 hour wait time. They're getting slammed with callers. The line was busy and then I got through. And I think they only just opened a half hour or hour ago.

This kinda review is what we live for.... everybody knows the rules, this place is legendary

We used to go there when Marilyn owned it, that’s her son. Patsy’s was one of my dads spots and he’d always bring a pie home to get himself out of trouble for having a few after work. Then when I grew up my firehouse that I worked at was down the street and we used to order quite often. Glad to see still making a great pie.

He’s bout to get real busy and I couldn’t be happier for a guy like him. Just a genuine good person. Also, you know it’s gonna be a good review when the video is longer. Short 2-3 min ones are bad scores. Always happens.

Paterson! I was born there. Most of my family grew up in Paterson. My aunt Sadie& Ruby had the little dinner in downtown. My grandfather Bill Cohen had the gas station. He had to ration gas during WW2 for the truckers. Lots of memories. I live in Massachusetts now. I miss the pizza in N.J. and N.Y. They dont know how to make great pizza around here! Ok! My family said. Patsy's. Great! Been there for ever.

For me Patsy’s is the quintessential pizza place. Atmosphere, great people, and unbelievable pizza. I’m in the west and would die to have a place near me like Patsy’s. Lucky people.

Re- do the review another day and give these folks the 9.1. The crisp and cheese presentation on that pizza was 🔥🔥🔥.

This pizza review was quite the ride! An extraordinary pizza, a hasty scoring decision, an extra charming meet and greet with the owner, a second slice realization that a pizza deserving a 9.1 won’t make the books. As we drown into a pool of 8.2 regret the wacky Charlie Kelly-like mayor swings through to save the day with some comic relief.

Been a long time since a pizza has had that level of crisp, 3 minutes in and I'm expecting 8 territory

8.2 is low for this, they deserved an 8.6 easy, it’s the best pizza I’ve ever had, granted I haven’t had as many as Dave and I haven’t done a lot of eating in New York but still I think it deserves a higher score. For my taste it’s a 9.1, maybe a 8.9 on a bad day. It’s got a good helping of high quality cheese, good sauce, the best crust I’ve ever had by a mile, and it’s cooked to perfection. Just a tremendous slice all around, bravo to the guys over there at patsy’s tavern and restaurant Edit: wow I just got to the end of the review and saw he changed his score to an 8.9 or 9.1, what a coincidence. Also, I don’t care if he wants to say he can’t change the score on a technicality, he changed it whether he wants to admit it or not, as he should. I’ve been fortunate enough to have pizza at famous places all over the world, and Patsy’s is hands down my favorite so far. Their pepperoni and garlic pie damn near sent me to heaven. Everything from the vibe to the people that work there is just excellent. My mouth is watering just watching this video.
